Awesome work, Ady.  Simply stunning!  Thank you so much for taking the time to make and share these fantastic edits.  We can only hope the Blu-rays are even half as good as this looks like being... but I have a strong feeling ESB:R will knock the spots off the Blu-rays!

Every time I see a comparison clip I think I'll never want to watch the special editions again.

You should have thought that anyway ;-)

TBH until TESB:R the DVD versions are still the best ones to get compared to the laserdisc transfer

Anywho, fantastic new pics ady... I thought after the final trailer this was it... but the awesomeness is still getting better

Sometimes I think it might be over the top the way we star wars nerds react to the SE changes - after all it is just a movie

But whenever seeing clips from revisited it makes me happy that i DO care about tiny details

Disagree.  There are some fantastic preservations, including adywan's theatrical reconstruction and his AVCHD...

But that's a discussion for a different forum.

It's absolutely beautiful, Ady. Thank you so much for all the work you've done. And the comparison trailer is a great way to show off the work to those with less discerning eyes -- and a reminder of all we've put up with over the years, sometimes without realizing how unpolished the movie has been. :-)

wow, I just noticed a minor thing which I'm sure has likely already brought up. When Luke is in the bacta tank a droid attaches something to the glass, there's a fast cutaway but when we see it again its no longer attached to the glass.

Not a big deal either way though. Just spotted it while re-watching Ady's ESBR preview. Plus I know this section of the film is pretty much complete except for the new wampa.

It's also possible the droid arm quickly retracts during the cutaway.

Has some of the colours changed again in the latest trailer? (not counting the comparison one). I thought some things looked different colour wise, although I could be wrong.

I wasn't gonna watch the trailer, hoping to wait for the final release. But I was weak.

It's FREAKING AWESOME.

Ady, with your announcement of ESB:R being Blu-ray, I was curious if you had any thoughts of going back and doing a Blu-ray version of SW:R?

Thanks

Adywan you are doing a great job so keep up the excellent work! I just posted an article on my site about all of the Star Wars trailers and how they've changed over the years as Lucas has tinkered with them for each release. I also included the trailers to both of your projects so fans can see what a dedicated individual can do. If you are interested in seeing it, you can check it out here: http://seanfergusonscorneroftheuniverse.blogspot.com/2011/05/star-wars-trailers-over-years-and-how.html

I always vow not to click on final teasers for these projects, save spoiling surprises for myself. Just....Could....Not....Resist this time! I've been away from the forum for a few months so i've missed a few tings. The rebel transport launch just justified my moment of weakness (in awe, and totally gob smacked).

Just wanted to say that I caught SW:R late and I'm glad to see this one as it's being made. ESB is my all-time favorite movie, but all I can watch these days is the Laserdisc rip. I can't wait to see it in all its HD glory! Keep up the good work!!

Ady — if you're planning to make A:R:SE with options for added music in the duel scene, would you consider doing the same for ESB:R? I've seen the ESB duel as originally scored and it'd be awesome to have as an alternative on the disc.

Also, taco_fox: Adywan put together a "theatrical restoration" cut of ESB, colour-corrected and with SE elements removed, while he was starting work on ESB:R. Track it down if all you've got is the Laserdisc rip.

To think that one singular person has done this, and unlike the THUNDERCATS and GREEN LANTERN (with Nathan Fillion0 trailers on youtube, this is going to be a full feature presentation...

I guess if there is one thing to add/note, I noticed that the ion cannon is firing as the transport ships are lifting off.  Should we see a glimpse of the blue ion beam behind them or after the bigger one starts to move to the right of the ion cannon (as its in mid-recoil from a shot)?  I'm guessing it's a mostly-finished shot?

And the extra photos on the Facebook page!  I couldn't help but laugh with geek mania at the AT-AT shot (where you could see the bridge crew in the window)!

Can December come fast enough?

So is this the look most of you had when watching the trailer for the first time?
