That's been my take since all this bullshit started years ago. First his excuse was "the films are ruined, it's not possible to release the original anymore". Once it was widely known that there were excellent prints that could be used, he switched his excuse to "it's cost prohibitive". A few companies volunteer to do it for free, so now he's moved to completely ignoring the fans who want the originals and then launches his "Facebook will prove that I'm right" cult.

His behavior as far back as 1980 was an early indicator of who he really is.
