However you might feel about Blade Runner, hate it, love it, you have to respect that you can choose which version of the film you want to watch on Blu Ray. It's the only way to do Director's Cuts. I'm fine with re-editing movies, obviously, as long as the original isn't snuffed out of existence. Have any other directors attempted to replace their films with impostors like Lucas?

What motive could they possibly have for passing on the money they'd get from treating the OOT properly? They could sell it in some crazy limited edition archival Blu-Ray set like the Beatles Mono box, devoted solely to the OOT, charge a premium for it and market it as diehard-collectors-only if they wanted, and still make money hand over fist. Make any changes you want to the films after that. Put Jar-Jar in an X-Wing in A New Hope for all I care. We'll have our Star Wars Archival Editions. The obviousness of this makes it seem like it's something personal, not just business, that's responsible for the OOT's deliberate absence from the Blu Ray set.
