Brazil was an amazing film.

I've been thinking about what would be required for me to purchase a Blu saga boxset. For me, it's just a question of the expense of the set. I'd have to justify it (and the new player to go with it). GL can put out any product he wants. It's his sandbox filled with his toys.

Thing is, the PT in SD is plenty for me, there's Revisited for ANH and ESB, and there are theatrical reconstructions of ROTJ. Yeah, they're in SD, but HD SEs aren't enough. The bonus material isn't enough for me to shell out, either.

What I think it would take.

For ANH and ESB: A purist Revisted style enhancement. Maybe a few extra effects as long as they don't scream out "Hey, look at me! I'm NEW!!" too loudly.

For ROTJ and the PT: A purist Revisited style treatment as a base. Then, a full-on "Official" "Authorized" fan-edit of those films. Strong color enhancement for ROTJ and maybe something different for parts of AOTC. Everything to improve tension and pace of the four. Some cuts to de-kiddify TPM and AOTC. Eliminate everything possible that the die-hard fans found especially objectionable. Add some deleted scenes and new elements if they can be made to work well. Put it all in HD. If the originals are to be included, maybe they could fit in SD.

I'd like to have any Blu set (especially new bonus discs) but it must be substantially better than what I have now. :)
