Yes that's the artwork of the Trilogy set, those are covers of the Rowman or Editdroid sets.

But i'm interested in the side with the quote.  Which is in silver and done script style, as if written by GL.  People seem to have scanned the front, but not the sides.  This VHS set had fold out wings, which i've also never seen scanned.

Here's a low res version:

Would love a 600dpi so i can do an adequate vectorization of it.  Might have to settle working with this version.

I haven't been visiting the forum for a long time now.  So, sorry for the late response.  I have this VHS set, and a scanner.  If you still want this, I can make a scan of it for you.  Let me know.

Here is what the new set says...

Galatians 2: 20: I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Okay, I found it and uploaded it to imageshack.

It is a bit small. I think it might have been either comic art or lunch box art, either of which I never collected much. It would make a cool DVD cover, knowing how lacking ROTJ is for art.

This was actually a Coca Cola giveaway by artist Jack Kirby.  I have a huge version of it which I can upload if people are still interested.

I'm looking for a high-resolution (at least 1700 px tall) version of Tom Whalen's Return of the Jedi print:

Hi msycamore. I've no idea why there was a lack of interest in your hi-res Star Wars, Empire and Raiders stuff. I am trying to improve my collection of digital artwork but I always see custom DVD covers that look better than what I have. I'm afraid I don't really have the skills to colour-correct either, but if you have made these available anywhere I would be eternally grateful for copies... I haven't found a source for the ocp scans either, any tips?

*edit*  got a few anh posters from the link in satanika's post at higher quality than I had.

dKO, I'm doing some color correction on ANH right now. I found a partially restored one that had pretty bad JPEG artifacts and really, really bad color:

(I have fixed that ugly green blob btw).

http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/4669/anhdn.jpg

The correction is as non-invasive as I can make it. It should look 500% better than the pink version when done.

Too bad this image has a lot of clone stamp used on the bottom since it's a restoration, not original.

That's true... it also has it at the top (a bit). I could start with a fresh image and do a much better clone-stamp than that of the base actually. Why'd you have to draw my attention to things I didn't want to see? ROFL. I'm not sure I could do it as well with any of the other images I have. Thanks for pointing that out though :)

Okay, here's one scanned from the SW posters book.

http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/1218/anhfilteredth.jpg

BTW, I tried several image hosts, even the ones allowing up to 10MB pictures complained that the dimensions of the image were too big! ROFL. But I finally found one :) For some reason it did, however, recompress the image... 5.36MB --> 5.30MB (the difference is negliable though). All I've done to it is passed it through neat image; I'm going to try and "restore" it using a full poster scan to fill the missing area.

I believe this is a much better image than the last one.

The quality of this image is remarkable. Here's a comparison... pinkish one taken from a custom DVD cover (latest in thread), middle one taken from a filtered and modified photoshot of a poster from cinemamasterpeices, and the last one being this image (the latter two resized to match the pink DVD cover one). Notice it has more stars than any other image, and more fine detail. The black level, however, does loose much of vader's helmet. It's also the sharpest of the images (both the second two images were sharpened slightly in neat-image. When I get a chance I'll try and mege the two images....

Here's the one on cinemamasterpeices that I used, along with the modified version which is a WIP:

RU.08 I got this 1920x1080 Star Wars wallpaper from themoviedb.org (it is now gone). It seems to be either from a better scan of the posterbook or the same scan with less alteration/smoothing.

It's a shame the posters there seem to max out around 1500px as I'm sure many of them exist at a higher quality. The only "A" poster I have seen with the same colouring and detail as what msycamore posted was a photo of a six sheet but it was so badly folded it was useless for a digital copy.

Yes, doubleKO that was indeed from a six-sheet, sorry I was just teasing with you, I'll upload my collection as soon as I've sorted them all, I recently managed to find an even nicer Tom Jung one-sheet on my external HD.

It looks more pastel now than paint. Excellent!!!!

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Thanks msycamore, that would be great. Do you actually have a flat version of the six-sheet at that quality? The one-sheets all look a bit more "processed" from what I've seen, or does that just depend on the quality of the scan/photo?

Yes, the pic I posted are from that one, the six-sheets were however split up due to the size and they're also impossible to find without fold marks as they were folded already at the factory but it's nothing a little photoshopping can take care of. (They don't display the complete Tom Jung artwork though.)

I don't really get what you mean by processed but probably a combination of the quality of scan/photo and the fact that they are different pressings of the artwork at different size, there is even a different look between different pressings of the one-sheets. And many of them you see are bootlegs, many collectors say that it's almost impossible to find authentic style A that has not been folded.

I've always liked the imagery surrounding Star Wars, but everybody has set out to do Jung, and not much new.

I attempted to give Star Wars a Cowboy Bebop meets James Bond look. Very 70's and retro. Feel free to do what you want with it. I might make a DVD cover myself, or not.

I probably won't do ESB and ROTJ, because that style poster doesn't work with them.

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can help me out. I am looking for a Hi Res version of Tom Whalen's Return of the Jedi poster and Raiders of the Lost Ark poster by chance. Please PM me if you can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Author

Your best bet for the Whalen ROTJ is probably to try to vector it yourself.

As for his Raiders--are you maybe thinking of the Eric Tan posters?

Nice, ESF! I love Bebop so much.

Hi guys.

I need some help tracking down a big version of this image for a cover project. Anyone? Maybe someone can grab the frame from the Blu?

Any and all help appreciated.
