This always seemed like a weird comment to make. "As long as something isn't terrible enough for our loyal customers to boycott , that's what matters". Way to aim high.

just a quick note:

40+ hours of bonus features minus 24 hours of audio commentaries gives us 16 hours remaining special features. the more detailed described disc 9 contains around 7 hours leaving 9 hours of special features.

this means disc 7 and disc 8 will contain around 9 hours of special features together.

i don't understand why lucasfilm can't get it right. they miss a really great opportunity. why release the movies without video commentaries or multi angles? i remember reading interviews in which GL talked about the need to wait for the advantages of the blu-ray technology - where he can show us the bluebox version, the preliminary animated version, the final version of each and every scene of the entire saga. it looks like after all this waiting we won't be getting this!

'dts 6.1 surround sound' is dvd niveau, high-def sound would be called 'DTS-HD Master Audio 6.1'. strange.

what i am expecting after seeing this spelling error on the doc-title is another rushed & pressured release. what such a release would really need is once more missing: love and passion for doing it well.

 Why would Ms. Lucas care what a small minority of SW fans think?  The internet is about 1% of the SW fanbase, and she is essentially talking to the fans here at OT.com.

What she doesn't understand is 99% don't hate her father, and don't even think about SW anymore and moved on.  All of my friends who are SW fans, have never posted on a SW board.  They love the OOT, don't like the PT or SE, but have no hatred towards Ms. Lucas or her father.

If I were her, I wouldn't have responded, and not get into the mudslinging that pervades the internet.

They weren't saying it about her or her father they were saying it about the covers and it's a very accurate and not particularly hateful comment and justifies a soft response.

Meh.  Nice to see the three classic "making of" docs included, but the lack of From Star Wars to Jedi is disappointing.

Still, the inclusion of those docs alone is enough to make it better than I expected.  Still won't buy it, but it's a better set than I anticipated it would be.

Are we to surmise that those documentaries have been restored and will be in HD?

Either way that's a bitter pill (to finally divorce us from Mr George).

If they are as we already have them what so special about them to justify them as special features on a HD format disc set?

If they have been restored why restore them and not...say...the original theatrical versions of the films that started the whole thing off in the first place?

Star Wars is officially up shit creek without a paddle.

Will stick with my GOUT dvds (still haven't bothered going blu ray at Cracker Towers, although an O-OT release woulda swung it!)
