Really hope once the reveal is completed we have a new trailer to see, so we can at least get an idea of what the transfers will look like.

oh no...I think I will need this :
after watching this :
Funny thing about the Saga cover is they try to make it feel "full circle", but little Anakin was never at the Lars Homestead.
^And Luke is just a blurry after thought to little Anakin lost in the wrong location.

Eh, the cover's ok. If they were going for the paint-y look, wish they used:
Other than that I have nothing to add to this converstion.
THAT would be a sweet piece to use as the cover art. Don't tempt me, anymore. I already have too much work as there is without a spontaneous custom cover art crusade on my hands.

Something just dawned on me. We already have some unofficial SW Blu-ray sets, right? Mostly television transfer of SW in HD. Anyway, following our rules of fanediting, preservations, and whatnot, won't this mean we'll have to own a set of the official Blu-rays in order to justify own ownership of any HD SW related projects? Much like we are suppose to own the official DVD for any fanedits we own and/or replace our DVD preservations with the official DVDs upon their release (regardless of the fact that we may already own the VHS of that particular film).
Deleted scenes, though....
Theoretically, yes. But theoretically, what we do isn't exactly legal to begin with.CP3S said:

I flagged up that dilemma many months ago.
It's a difficult circle to square.

Not very impressed by this cover at all. It looks like a kid sketched it with pastels for a class project
Ugh, those covers are horrible! Too busy, too crowded, each too focused on a character it shouldn't be. And who thought it would be a good idea to shove the rest of the main characters into a single corner? The OT one is slightly better, and Darth Vader is certainly a better focal point than Yoda, but it almost seems like they forgot that Luke exists at all.
"Um... we're out of space! Where do we put Luke?"
"Who?"
"Luke Skywalker... the main character of the movies..."
"Oh, that son guy? Eh, let's just throw him on Darth Vader's cheek."
"Um... it's crooked."
"Sorry! Time to break for lunch! Print it!"

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

Wait why are there two domes right next to eachother and shouldn't luke be the non ghost looking one since anakin wasn't there until he was older and why is- *Head 'asplode*
I'm really doubting that the cover artist has ever actually watched any of the films.
"Would you mind loaning me some of your lipstick, George Lucas? Because I wanna at least look pretty the next time you decide to fuck me!"
"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

So this is what the "all will be revealed" was all about?
- No deleted scene descriptions.
- No clips from the discs themselves.
- No new images.
Just a some new box art that most 10 year olds could've done, some stuff on a bonus disc that most have already seen and they expect people to buy this just because it says Blu-Ray on the box?
Can someone point me to the most up-to-date fan conversion of the OOT on DVD?
I do not fear the Dark Side as you do.

The only thing that seems positive, is, that we get the OT at a higher bitrate than the HD rips from TV. So our faneditors and color-correctors have a better base to work with.

That remains to be seen.
Bit-rate is one thing, if the image has had important information distorted or scrubbed off some editors/preservation artists may find the TV transfers better to work from.
Oh, okay, then forget what I said.
