BANNED BOND: The Criterion Collection on DVD (Released) — Page 12

Isn't Wrath of Khan supposedly the only one that got a decent restoration out of the Trek films?

No; both III and VI look better.  Special treatment was given to II because it has a hard time looking good.  It was filmed in soft focus to hide the actors' ages, but in spite of the extra effort, the blu-ray doesn't look much better than the upscaled PAL Director's Cut DVD.

I am curious as to which parts are meant to have a tint to them.

EDIT: If the images from DVD Beaver are anything to go by, the blue tint appears to be on the blu-ray release.  I actually prefer the colors on the director's cut DVD.

Utterly amazing!

Sorry to be off-topic, but in regards to the STAR TREK blu-rays, I can say that ST:TMP looks FANTASTIC (granted, some of the original FX need some "special edition" cleaning/fixing to get rid of matte lines and the like -not so much replacing), whereas ST2:TWOK looks a bit rough and grainy in comparison.

The director's cut of TMP had improved special effects for a number of scenes.  All of the blu-rays were the theatrical versions though.  If the directors' cuts are released on blu-ray format, be sure to snap up TMP! :-)

I do wish I knew where to find these banned Bonds...

I don't really do torrents, but thank you for telling me AvP.  Your help is much appreciated. :-)

I might have a go at downloading them from demonoid at some point.  If not I'll continue to hope for a rapidshare or newsgroups release

AvP is right. There are active torrents on Demonoid right now. About half a dozen seeders for each.

I'm trying my hand at some disc art for the three films.

Finally found these and watched through them. As soon as the old MGM and UA logos came on I knew everything was right again. Thank you for doing these preservations FF. I am certainly looking forward to your Thunderball project and the others redone.

Thank You very much for saying that. I love doing these, and Thunderball is looking good so far. I just got my hands on the rare 5.1 AC-3 THX laserdisc version.

Great job! Are these available anywhere else other than on Demonoid? I don't have an account and registration is closed...

I think they may be on MySpleen. Ask walkingdork for a free invite through PM. He's been giving them out.

FYI: Anyone interested in acquiring just the banned commentary audio tracks from these disks might want to read this post at The 007 Dossier .

I see these are in .mp3 format.  Can they be archived in a lossless format or aren't they high enough quality from the Criterion LD's for that?

Thanks

Thanks for the link! I've misplaced the mp3's I downloaded several years back and couldn't remember where I got them from.
