That feature connected to DVD.Starwars.com. Which is gone.
I was recently reading about some of the stuff that was removed from Revenge of the Sith and altered in re-shoots, but when I was looking at the sources, they said something about the Revenge of the Sith "Depth Commentaries." I had no idea what this was until I did a little digging to discover that all the prequels had these text commentaries but only as DVD Rom features. So I popped in my Episode III disk to check them out but I can't for the life of me get them to work. The AutoPlayer that pops up just gives me a big red X when I try to play the movie and the link to the website with additional features just brings me to the homepage for Star Wars.com. Does anybody know if these DVD Rom features have been disabled or something. Does anybody else have any luck or does my computer just suck have have a bad plug in? The only article I can find about it was published in 2006 and the links he provides are dead.

Damn, I would have really liked to have checked those out. Especially the Episode III one considering how useless the "Within a Minute" documentary on that disk was. I can only hope they'll end up on the blu rays.

Someone posted a few screen captured videos that contained the commentaries for eps 1 & 2 plus the "script to screen" commentaries for eps 1 & 5, but i can't find where that was now. i did have these but they may have been deleted long ago

If you eventually find them, could you make them available?
Thanks in advance.
It's too bad there isn't some group of fans who work to preserve starwars media before it disappears.

Indeed. I often use the Internet Archive when I search for old Star Wars media and interviews. But even that is limited.

Just a bunch of dead links now and I'm almost ashamed to admit I no longer have these. :-(
Did anyone download them at the time and still have them?
Your brain just makes s**t up!
A fate worse than death? Having your head digitally replaced with that of Hayden Christensen!
They never did one for Return of the Jedi, before the special online features expired.

I've sent a PM to Deathsaurer, to see if he can re-upload them.

There are, just like people round here deal with video others focus on different aspects of SW files. Problem is they are not going to come forward to the wider public as then you become a librarian catering to random public 'I Want' requests.
It's unfortunate that SW.com didn't attempt to become the goto place. Would be great if they could somehow match any file which makes it's way online. Would give them the ability to do quality control but also move traffic to their site. Wouldn't have to be the official site, they could create a Library like site full of ads. And as images surface they put out an equal, clearer or higher resolution version, and people would hotlink those images and that would drive traffic to the ads. Might pay for itself and an employee or two. There are tumblr blogs pooling photos of all kinds, the toy sites have pictures of every toy, a group which does book scans, John Williams fans save the soundtracks, Kuat saves fan films, online video hosting sites have all kinds of wonderful. tf.n did a great job in the early years. But the disagreements during the prequels split up the preserving files fan communities.
thanks, Alexrd for asking around for copies.
Anyone ever have any luck with these?

I submit that was par for the course.
