Change of subject, just replaced my busted 5.1 system.....been without it for over a year and half,.......watched ANH:R,.......absolutely fantastic, can't express enough how much I'm looking forward to ESB:R.

Don't think I'll miss the deleted AT-ST, i'd prefer the better organised flow of events that is being re-created.

I like the ATST in ESB, but judging by the changes in the new 16 minute clip ESB:R will be my version of choice. The new emperor scene and 'Bring my shuttle' more than make up for losing a brief glimpse of the ATST.

Why didn't the gunner on the star destroyer just shoot the escape pod "just to be sure"? (I bet he got force choked soon after!)

The gunner was ordered to hold his fire, now why did his superior give that order... Good question. Perhaps the guns were close from overheating after chasing the Tantive IV ?

Why do the stormtroopers ride giant lizards on Tatooine?

Why do policemen ride horses in some cities around the world? Aside from needing fuel, speeders' engines may not like the combination of sand and twin suns. Luke's XP-34 has no problem on flat rocky terrain but it might not fare that well on the Dune Sea...

When our heroes jump in the garbage chute, why don't the stormtroopers check out the station schematics and go and wait for them at the door?

Stormtroopers are morons, they are great to storm cities and ships and kill dozens of enemies who do nothing but stand against them and shoot back, but against a small group of evasing foes who use just a little bit of tactic they are totally lost.

Leia knew  the falcon was being tracked so why didn't she ditch it on a neutral planet and take a different ship to Yavin

That would mean taking a detour to another planet and wasting time searching for another ship. But yeah I agree that's like inviting the wolves inside the sheep pen.

They did put a ray-shield.

Already answered many times over : the rebels had an energy shield capable of deflecting any bombardment (sic). Besides Vader wanted Luke alive so nuking the whole place was out of the question.

Why didn't vader just break the falcon's hyperdrive rather than just having it switched off?

Dunno, breaking it might have been more difficult, or too obvious.

Why didn't the emperor have large shutters installed in those tubes the rebels fly through to get to the death star reactor?

It was still under construction, could be the engineers needed the space to transport large parts through those tunnels.

Why can't a crack legion of stormtroopers crush an insurgency comprised of teddy bears armed with sticks and stones?

Actually they could if you remember the battle, but they didn't count on the teddy bears AND the Wookie :D

My uncle has 3D HDTV and I got to experience it over Christmas (a few minutes of footy and about ten minutes of Avatar on 3D Blu-ray).

The footy didn't really work (only the logos really stood out) but Avatar looked very interesting, the CGI seemed to do what it does better than the live action sections.

I'm not sure if it's really for me though as I have epilepsy and I was beginning to feel a bit on the edge of a seizure for moments after wearing the glasses (something I didn't experience wearing the cinema glasses).

Other than winning the second prize in the ESB:R workprint tumbola the only other thing I have won was a very cheap Walkman clone at the Ideal Home Exhibition (Detecting an object hidden under map using cryptic and mathematical clues on a Royal Army stall).

Though my wife did win a car once (according to an item of junk mail, which was a bit odd as I have  no recollection of ever getting married).

Great to hear of your bit of luck at The Gadget Show Live!  A neat bundle of prizes indeed.  So blu-ray release with an option of 3D 'behind-the-scenes' footage...  Awesome! :)
