I'm doing quite a bit of what you're talking about here for the OT. I am awaiting the BluRays to see if it will be necessary to redo the deleted OT scenes. If you look at my page you'll see some of the quick mock-ups I did. I have already planned ahead and made some background plates and such. The only scene that will be extraordinarily difficult is when Luke is actually inside Tosche Station. Not impossible, but very very hard to do convincingly.

I also suggest, as a community, we don't keep overlapping our work but instead build upon each other's. Ady already did a superb color correction for the first two, why go back and re-color correct? If there is something you don't like then cherry pick those and only do those scenes to your satisfaction. Proper color correction will only take months away from work you could be doing on something else.

I'm of the mind that anybody can remove things and switch things but that isn't really what I find interesting. It's when you improve upon it or radically change it for your own reasons that are great. No offense to others but when I see a list for an Ep. I edit and all it does is state all the things they are going to remove it just makes me go 'bleh' and move on. Ady upped the ante and basically perfected the OT. Now, with mine I'm going to do all the little things I've always wanted to see but didn't know how. My own little tinkering like GL but hopefully better. I can't wait until I get to Jedi. The things I have planned for that are stupidly complex and will take a very long time to accomplish.

I say you should abandon the Prequels entirely. Those cannot be fixed. No matter how much you try. They can be made better but 'better' isn't 'good'.

I look forward to some mock-ups. Remember, some stuff you want to do may already be finished or in the works by others. When mine is completed I would hope you and others will take it and build upon it or cherry pick it your own edit (as long as proper credit is given of course).
