The verbatim discs I used were the +R; however, burn speed might not be the problem. I have ripped and burned many dvd's faster than 2.4 and they work in the sony. It's mainly the fan edits of ( any kind ) that wont work with in player. All store bought DVD's and Blu-rays work fine, so firmware is not really the issue IMO. Lenses are clean. Unplugging and plugging back in does not work. I guess the problem is with SONY. It just wont play certain discs. I will trying burning it one more time at 2.4 and see if it's the burn speed that the player has a problem with. Maybe the fan edits need to be burned at a slower speed.
