Is the new 16 min. preview available for download or available for online viewing anywhere else than on YouTube? Those -insert a long line of curses- from Sony have blocked the Revisited videos for my country... as well as half of all of videos on YouTube recently, it seems.
Saying that Ady's changes are ok because they are "better" than the SE changes kinda misses DJ's point. But as long as people understand that neither the SE nor Adywan's revisited editions are suitable replacements for a properly restored OT, then I don't care if there are some people out there who happen to prefer watching one or the other of them. That's just natural human diversity.

I made my point clear. I don't care if you like or don't like the changes, but you made a lousy argument comparing people who do like these changes to people who don't like GL's changes. They're two different situations. I singled you out because Jeyl said he didn't like the change and left it at that. You went a step further and made a weak comparison. Simple as that.

Damn right, I have been a member of this community for a very long time, I have made a lot of friends, and I do a lot of trading, some really, really love Fan Edits, so wouldn't it make sense to have them for trade? or to upload? because believe it or not, I used to upload a shitload for people at Myspleen(Star Wars and NON Star Wars projects, others as well as my own) my record stands, it is all there, what is yours? do you even have one? like I said, we should carry on over in the off topic, so hopefully I will see you there and we can discuss who and what we are there.

d_j, not to be direspectful (I like your work and appreciate the projects you are doing), but honestly dude why do you keep popping into threads stirring things up? In the V8 thread you are questioning why people like V8 over GOUT and then reasoning that with "I really think most people that are saying that the JSC set LD captures look great are not viewing them on a large screen HDTV." Which I must say, why does it even matter? In one of Harmy's threads you thought Harmy was implying that PAL was superior to NTSC when he didn't. These are just some of the examples.
We know you have an opinion on things - everyone does. It's the way you go about it that is really rubbing people the wrong way. I know you mean well, but I just don't understand it and neither do other people (not everybody) but it's becoming more frequent as of late.
We had this discussion before in the preservation section, and I'm not getting on my high horse, I just want people to get along - as we ALL do bring something to the table as a community, even if it is just suggestions and ideas to the topic. Some do more than others yes, and your work has been noted. Let's not turn this all into a "I've done more for this community than you" argument, to warrant an opinion.

Here's all I'll say on this subject:
I dislike some of the 1997 changes, and most of the additional 2004 changes. But I don't think Lucas was wrong to make said changes - it's his film, therefore it's his prerogative. I only take issue with the use of the SE's as a replacement for the originals.
I also dislike some of the things Adywan has done (in ANH:R, at least). But I like a lot of what he's done, as well. And I don't have an issue with the fact that he's "pulling a Lucas" in changing the originals ... because he's not making these as a replacement for the originals. They're meant as an alternate version, a companion piece if you will, like the SE's should have been.
Not only that, but Ady has also worked on some fantastic projects that do more to preserve the originals than Lucas has ever done - his '97 Empire AVCHD, his '80 theatrical Empire DVD, his '99 theatrical TPM DVD, his announcement that he'll be doing a '77 SW restoration as well, and so on.
So I don't think it's fair to compare Adywan's work to what George did with the SE's - they're two entirely different beasts.

just use some proxy man. you can find here newest proxy sites . . go there, click at any link, in new opened website type youtube URL and click surf. that's it ;)

Be very careful if following any of these proxy links. I did earlier and have just spent the past 5 hours scrubbing various viruses and trojans from my system that infected it from some of the sites offered. You have been warned.

I'm glad I'm not Ady. For my edits, I've made it perfectly clear they aren't to satisfy anyone but myself. I expect people to hate half of what I'm doing and love half and hopefully you can't find two people who agree on all of it. I'm so disinclined to engage in arguments over something I love so much that I doubt I'll even reply to negative comments. Not to confuse it with critiques that are constructive yet contrary. I just can't abide negativity when it comes to these edits which is why I've been content with just sitting back and reading the forums for 3 years. I just wish every time I come to Ady's thread people were being wonderful to each other. Some of you guys could take a page out of Imp Fighter's book. He's always the nicest and most respectful guy here. Anyway, play nice boys. From experience, I can tell you that there is a lot of work and sleepless nights involved in doing these extensive edits and absolutely for no reward except personal satisfaction.
If once you start down the dark path... wear comfortable shoes.
