STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION — Page 363

The wait is worth it. I'm gonna hook my laptop up to our 50 inch plasma and enjoy A New Hope Revisited in all its glory! :D

On second thought, I might burn a disc. Daemon Tools has a burn function.

I would suggest burning the disc if all you have is a VG hookup to your TV.  I dunno any facts behind this, but I always thought the VG hookup to my LCD left something to be desired when it came to watching in HD.  Better play it safe and stick with the DVD9.

Yeah, I was thinking that too. I'm definitely going to do it just for the fact that Blu-ray players upconvert. I can't wait! :D

Can I use the Daemon Tools' burn function?

I used a free trial version of Nero.  It's great (and free).  I've heard good things about IMGburn, and it's freeware.

Never heard of Daemon Tools.

IMGBurn kicks ass. Highly recommended by people who recommend stuff.

So I've looked at the list of changes made to the movie, and I love them all, except for one: The needle on the interrogator droid now has an electric arc going across it.

I always thought it was a hypodermic needle for injecting interrogation drugs.

The effect is technically well done, but it's actually a change that many people were so-so with, and one which I believe Adywan himself said he'd reconsider when he gets around to doing the 720p version.

This is a true statement. The 720p version will probably be more like the Purist version, but with the original needle.

IMGburn or CDBurnerXP Pro work to burn the discs. Both free, CDBurnerXP Pro has the added benefit of burning anything you throw at it.

Can we please have the rotating star field back? :(
It's in ESBR, it will be in ARSE. No worries.

Hi, Frink and Ripplin. Yep, first time here on the OT board... :P

Now, as for my question...

Hello everyone,

I recently acquired a copy of Ady's ANH-Purist from a confidential source (okay, maybe it was tehparadox), and while it of course looks wonderful, once I unpacked it with winRAR and extracted the main vob files with PowerISO, I found the video to be riddled with small but noticeable frame-jumps. Am I doing something wrong? Could there be errors in the paradox upload? Has anyone else experienced any issues with the Purist edit? I'm racking my brain trying to figure out the culprit here...

Thanks!  :)

... Any opinions? Anyone? :)

This is the #1 thing I'd like to see changed for the 720p version.

Specifically, if the erasing of the marks on the syringe was kept, but the mini-lightsaber thing was scrapped.

Haven't heard anyone having any problems with the purist. Do you get an ISO file when you unpack? If so then try mounting the image with Virtual clone drive, daemontools or something similar and try playing the movie from that. if it plays smoothly then PowerISO is causing the problem.

Are you burning it to DVD or watching the extracted VOB files on the PC?

Is any one going to buy the Saga on Blu-ray in September?

I was thinking of it... until I saw Star Wars Revisited, now I dunno if I will buy the Blu-ray.

Sir Adywan! An honor to speak with you again, hombre. :)

The latter.

Aye, I get an ISO. When I play the movie directly from the ISO via both clone drive and daemontools, it works beautifully. When I access those same files in the same way through Womble, however, the stutters/glitches appear. I tried copying the VOB files out of the ISO file onto the regular hard drive; the Womble problems recur, in fact, once the VOBs are copied to the hard drive, all my video playing/reading programs experience minor glitching. I try pcgdemuxing the IFO from the IFO and loading that into Womble - problems again. Aaand, I at long last pop the regular Revisited into Womble: same story, and in the same spots.

I can't imagine why PowerDVD should read the ISO file perfectly but Womble won't, but if I can't manage to get this working in the latter it won't be the end of the world. At least I'll always be able to read the original ISOs via clone drive.  :)

Adywan, I would just like to say you have done an absolutely amazing job on A New Hope, and I had to grab a cup to catch my drool when I saw the teaser for The Empire Strikes Back!

I've just noticed that all the full versions of Revisited have now been deleted from Youtube. Seems strange that all of them seem to have gone at the same time

That is a bummer, indeed. :(

Yeah I noticed that too! I went looking for it on YouTube to show my friend and couldn't find it. I hope that means Lucasfilm isn't bring down the ban hammer, because that would seriously suck. :(

I'm sure it's just YouTube aka Google covering their collective asses, LF has never shown any interest in shutting things down before have they?  Why would they start now?
