That means that in the Sith era, everyone had the same first name.

"Hey, Darth!"
"Hi, Darth."
"Nice Darksaber, Darth"
"Yes Darth. Thanks."
"Hey, why do we all have red darksabers, Darths? It would rock if I had a hot pink one."
"Would you like to end up like that one dude named Darth that wanted a double ended one? I heard he's with all the Darths on TATTOOine."
"Ouch."
You like popsicles? Then you need to come on down to the cellar. I got a whole freezer FULL of popsicles. Mmmmm...

LOL.

Actually I think it is only the leaders of the Sith called Darth.

And I need to add to my sig "Darth Bandon." He is Malak's apprentice. And quite wimpy.

While your conversation was funny, Darth is not a firstname but a title.

I remember that when TPM was released, Jay Leno made a sketch about it, and he showed the breakfast cereal for the fans that were sleeping on the line for days, waiting for the film: "Get a Life!". And it had a nerd with glasses on the box. I felt kinda sad.

Yeah, but it was over-used on Star Wars!

I noticed this for the first time when I watched the OT in English the other day. You have to know that in the dubbed German version they used variations of this line instead, so it didn't leave a bad impression on me.

So, when I watched the originals the other day, I laughed everytime it came up, because it reminded me so much of the DragonLance saga (Tanis uses the phrase "We've got to get out of here!" a million times in the Chronicles, instead of saying something else, like "Run! Run!", "Retreat!", "We have to find a way out of here!" or "Get out! Now!" ).

The SW writers did a lousy job in this case. I mean, they could have used "Something's wrong" or "This place is giving me the creeps" for a change.

I always viewed that line as being a sort of "tie in" for all the movies. Kinda showed the "one mind" that all the characters develop with regard to each other. You know how when you spend a lot of time with someone, you start to think and react alike. That's how I viewed the use of this line.

No, it's actually bad writting.

I guess that could be argued. I always liked the use of that line. Just my two Lincolns.

I kinda enjoyed the use of it in the PT, as it was clearly used as a running joke. On the OT it was used because it's a cliche, the screenwriters didn't even noticed it was getting repeated all the time, just like this "We've got to get out of here!" line as Doc said.

Why am I having trouble believing they didn't know it was being used repeatedly?
