@Diego: Isn't there something like ImgBurn for Mac?

@hairy_hen: I will try contacting Chewtobacca, he did this for me before, so maybe he could either do it or walk me through it.

@TK-949: Sure, I can upload a HQ mp4 later today (no time now). It's only 720p but I think that even for a 1080p edit, it would be better to do something like this in 720p and then upscale.

@rockin: Actually, there's less and less HD in every shot. In the first shot, just Jabba and his immediate surroundings (the 04 Jabba is bigger) are 97SE DVD and in the one before last shot of Jabba, the whole right half of the picture is 97SE DVD and in the last shot, only Han's head and neck are HD but it makes a huge difference.

Just to be clear, I used Ady's 14GB mkv as a high quality source but the colours are substantially different from it. There isn't a single shot where the colour stayed the same as in Ady's version. I'm just saying this so that any problems you may find with the colours aren't assigned to Ady, he's completely innocent :-D

Ok, so you are to blame!! ;)

No, that's great work overall. The color will be always an issue, because the 2004 editions started changing it around, and now everyone has some kind of opinion, what's best and most true.. And you can't just do everything with the material you have. I'm curious if they will change the colors again for the blu-rays...

Thanx again!

The link I posted is a direct link to an offline installer for Windows, so there should be no such problem with it.

Thanks for your help Harmy and Moth3r. I got everything installed and downloaded last night. Can't wait to watch this.

Even my wife, who is only a casual SW fan and thinks I waste my time checking out everyone's preservations and edits, was impressed by the ESB DE when I was skipping through and checking it out last night. When I switched it off, I got an angry "Hey! I was watching that!"

So in short, congratulations on an amazing job Harmy!

Thanks guys, I'm happy you like it :-)

I already started working on STAR WARS. While waiting for the HD upscales of GOUT, I'm using whatever there is to use in the 97SE.

No ImgBurn either, and the alternatives I see are either expensive like Toast, offer free trials that are useless for this (250 Mb max) or seem to work for making normal DVDs.

Oh well...

Thank you! *happyhappyjoyjoy*

I never knew it had more elements of the 97SE in there for the Jabba clip. Very well done I must say!

@Diego: How about using ImgBurn on some kind of Windows emulator? Or maybe using a friend's computer?

And sorry I didn't upload the Jabba clip yet but I noticed some things I want to fix first, like when Han steps on Jabba's tail (urgh...) there's something weird going on with his hair. And maybe rotoscope HD Boba Fett into the end of the last shot.

I'd rather not use a windows emulator, but I was already thinking about using another computer, however that is not without some other complications, I need a HD formatted with FAT32 or whatever it's called (the one that can be used on both Macs and PCs), but that can only write files up to 4 GB in size, so I have to take the rar parts, unrar them there, install ImgBurn and hope the burner can burn DL DVDs.

I do appreciate your concern.

BTW, is ImgBurn complicated?

Well, I tried with ImgBurn with Windows and it burned the disc, but when it was verifying it, there was an error, and sure enough the disc doesn't play properly, it's like some parts of the film are missing and it just skips them. Oh well, I'm just going to give up with this.

Anyway from what little I could see with the damaged disc (and unless it's because the disc didn't burn properly) the colors are strange. Did you mean to make it so bright and saturated (for lack of better terms, english is not my first language) Harmy?

Well, not bright, no, it's actually much less bright in many places than the SE. But saturated, pretty much yeah, I like it that way and from what I saw, these were colourful films when they came out. Some people's desaturated colouring (the extreme example of which is the stuff that's going on in the Ep IV Radical Redux thread and such but even Ady's Revisited in some places) would fit a horror film rather than a light-hearted space fantasy.

It's certainly different (from the little I could see) from Ady's reconstruction. It's an interesting take for sure, the part that seemed very strange was the carbon freezing chamber.

^The link is unfortunately no good Harmy.
