The ideal would be to get a DVD version which pretty much anyone who can download it can burn these days and a blu-ray for the growing minority who can copy and pass them on (to meet Ady's standards that would probably mean a PAL and NTSC version of DVD done by him or cleared by him before release).
If Ady only wanted to do duel layered DVDs and let someone else do authorised SL and/or other versions that would cover all the same bases that ANH:R did without the extra workload.
Coverage is still the key.
The more ways people could get hold of and see the final product the more people to keep the revisited flag flying.
Don't underestimate the influence of lower resolution distribution.
I imagine a lot of people only learned of and came to contribute to ANH:R because of the distorted versions loaded up to Youtube and the clips (many of which Ady didn't put up himself but brought a lot of interest back to the source).
Personally I can't see the need for the special features to be on anything but the blu-ray which would also cut down the work load but that that's just my jive talkin'.
