all day i worked at this. i have gotten to the point of creating 6 mono wav files and put them in vegas for vol 1 i then output an ac3 file just in case i need it. so now i have been trying to find a way to use the subs. it seems subs cant be directly hardcoded to vob. with ripbot i can hardcode the subs but only to an mp4 or mkv container. vegas does not read mkv. so is this my only choice to encode the video to mp4 with the subs and no audio? and then place the mp4 into vegas along with my wav files and edit from there? i tried this already and the mp4 in vegas preview box was pixelated and choppy. i would think it would be time consuming to try and custom make a softsub file for this edit because every sub would have to be synced to the finished edit. i am at a loss here. 17 people have viewed this thread today and no one has any suggestions? i have been up and down every how to i can find about these problems and can not find a solution to hard code subs into the source video. i see in vegas you can add text but how does that work? i have to manually type all the subs and sync them visually? if i have to transcode the source to get the subs in what container will work good with vegas? because mp4 does not seem to do well.this is all a little much for my brain to handle. i am ambitious but this is nuts. there has to be a better way to get the subs into the video pre vegas editing.
