Hey guys, new poster, long time creeper.
Just bumping this to see if I can get some more opinions on the subject.
Shadow of the Sith seems like the best EpI out there, I loved it. Any contenders?
For EpII, from what I hear, I'm torn between Attack of the Phantom and Spence's AotC, and rather than watch them both and develop my own opinion, I'm going to be lazy and find out what you guys think. Also, I'd much rather watch the better version right off the bat. I also realize the L8wrtr’s Attack of the Separatists and Trooperman’s Shroud of the Dark Side will probably be awesome, but who knows how long those will take.
For EpIII, a lot of people seem to like Stankpac’s RotS:SE, but since Kerr’s Dark Force Rising is slightly new I wanted to see how they stacked up to each other (especially since kerr’s is pretty short).
Any opinions are appreciated, thanks.
Have yet to see an edit of AOTC that I liked honestly. Ep. 3? At the moment I still go to Spence's ROTS... But I'm hearing good things about Kerr's too... In fact, his is on youtube. =)
I do echo Brash's comments about Trooperman's workprint. Even in workprint form, that cut is phenomenal. If he can successfully polish it, it will be amazing.
I'll have to add Rogue-theX's "Attack of the Clones: The Super 8 Cut" to my favorites. It's really short, but hey, that's how I like it. He did a great job!
Hey, RedFive! In my opinion, Spence's edit of Attack of the Clones is the best so far, compared to Attack of the Phantom's lower AV quality and lack of a proper crawl. Although, if Attack of the Phantom was updated with a proper crawl, better AV quality, and without the Yoda fight, I may reconsider. As for Revenge of the Sith, I think hands down that Kerr's Dark Force Rising is the best ROTS edit yet! I personally like it a lot better than Stankpac's edit, which didn't seem to cut as much.
As for the future, I think that Trooperman's edit or Brash Stryker's edit will be very awesome edits of AOTC. I haven't seen the workprint yet, but would like to. Can anyone help? Also, Bob Garcia's edit of ROTS is definitely going to be interesting!
Wow, there are a lot of these "Best of..." threads.
It's been 10 months or so -- has this discussion moved to another thread?
Here's my completely broken list so far:
Ep I - Return of the Sith by Seciors (the cut list sounds so similar to Shadow of the Sith - how do they compare?)
Ep II - Attack of the Phantom (I'm really not happy with this one, I've just had trouble tracking down L8wrtr's The Republic Divided, which sounds like it'll be my favorite)
Ep III - Fall of the Republic by Slumberland (Again this is a placeholder I'm not really happy with; Kerr's Dark Force Rising is MIA and I'm eagerly awaiting L8wrtr's 3rd as well as he really seems to be on a roll!)
Did that Trooperman ever release his Ep II edit?
Too early to add Attack of the Ridiculousness?
Well, since it's not finished yet...no.
Edited your post, huh? Did you put 'yes' the first time? ;)
Ep I - Return of the Sith by Seciors
This is by far the greatest Star Wars fanedit I've ever seen and I've seen almost all of them. (This includes all OT or PT edits) The reason I say that is because it's done the seemingly impossible thing in making TPM ENJOYABLE for the first time. 'Shadow of the Sith' is good but it doesn't make me want to come back to it again like Seciors' edit.

I added the "no." :p
Ok George.
Well, I always wanted to say "no," but the technology didn't allow for it until 30 seconds later.
