For the end credits, the two things that came to mind were either Blade Runner's End Titles track or Rafi's Banana Phone.

The idea is perfect. Just need to clean up the cut.
I would just leave it as "Obi-wan Ken deal with that."
This way the "Ken" comes across as a "can". So no need for adding the word "will"

I think the "will" sounds fine, it's the transition from "Kenobi" to "will" that sounds a bit odd. However, I really like the idea that he uses his full name, and the odd sounding transition makes it sound even more...well...ridiculous.
And yes, I'm thinking of using it several times throughout the movie.

So last night I thought up a pretty radical idea for the podrace....
What if Anakin didn't win?
It would take some pretty serious re-working of the middle section (not just the race itself but all the lead up and aftermath) but it has some pretty ridiculous potential. And it fits in with the idea that no one is terribly competent throughout this whole thing.
Thoughts?

If you remove the part about the slave transmitter, and cut out some other parts with Shmi, Qui-Gon could make all of the deals, but just run back with Anakin instead of dropping Jar Jar and Padme off then headig back. Basically, Anakin is so strong with the force that Qui-Gon says "screw it and steals him from his mother and Watto. If only we could make it so it seems like Maul actually works for Watto and is hunting them down because of Anakin, and everyone just assumes that its the Sith.TV's Frink said:

I still love the idea of spending most of the movie up to that point setting up this giant race, with fan fares and then just having the podracer stall and cut to the after party.

My idea was to cut Qui-Gon's initial discussion with Watto ("Credits will do fine" "No they wont-a"). After Ani loses, put in Padme's "there must be another way" line from the table convo over a shot of them watching the podrace from the crowd, then go to Qui-Gon's initial discussion with Watto:
QG: Credits (waves hand) will do fine.
WATTO: (from later conversation) Deal.
QG: (from another convo) (waves hand) The boy.
WATTO: (repeated) Deal.
QG: (from later) (waves hand) His mother.
WATTO: (like normal version) What, you think you're a jedi waving your hand? Mind tricks don't work etc.
I really like the idea of having Sebulba just win the race. There should be enough footage to make it work. I also had an idea of Ani stalling, Sebulba races around for like five seconds, crosses the finish line, and wins without Ani ever getting going. However we lose the chance at some pod race ridiculousness that way.

I like your idea, and it could work and be pretty funny, but I'm going to be obstinate and side on that you should drop the race, I think skipping it entirely might be funnier than what you could do with the race. Like I said, with all of the buildup and so forth, I mean they build up to it more than any attack on a Death Star, so to have that idea fail, especially if you kept the complexity of it being for the ship or the boy or the pod or whatever to just fail (if Anakin lost, what would Watto get currently, seriously?). Makes Qui-Gon more badass, as he just turns and runs with the kid instead of honoring any of the deals.
"Tell them to take off!" because Watto is going to try to claim the ship, etc.
If only you could make it so the viewer assumes Watto hired Maul...

After Ric's explanation of Coruscant, Anakin could say "That's a speeder" many times, prompting Ric to say "You catch on fast".

Ha-ha, I like it.
In the current Ric clip I'm working on I think he says the "you catch on quick" line at least three times, maybe four.

Tee hee hee, nice. Are you going to have Obi-wan say that through out the film?? Like at the beginning when Qui and obi land on the trade fed's ship, have Obi saying 'Obi wan kenobi has a bad feeling about this' or something? And then you could have qui-gon say something like 'obi wan doesn't sense anything'

Yeah, I was thinking of doing it throughout. It would get tiresome after awhile but he's not got a ton of dialogue in TPM. I wouldn't continue it in AOTC, however.
