Ludwig Van Beethoven - Piano Concerto 5 (The Emperor) - Movement I

Vladimir Ashkenazy (Piano) - Georg Solti (Conductor) - Chicago Symphony Orchestra

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Dam At Otter Creek - Live

Shame they never made an album like that again. I look at Throwing Copper like most grunge fans look at Dirt, Nevermind, or Ten.

King of Limbs (album) - Radiohead

I'm warming to it about as quickly as I warmed to Amnesiac (which is to say, pretty slowly, but it's getting there).

The problem with Radiohead is that when I listen to them, I want to listen to the Talking Heads instead.

Agreed.  I also felt that way about Kid-A.  Rumours are swirling that the 8 songs on KOL aren't the complete album.  I'm hoping that turns out to be true as I'm kind of wondering where the guitars are on this album :-D

As disgruntled as I have become about modern music, I actually really liked this one.

Kinda a one hit wonder band though.

Remix of the Mission: Impossible theme from the 1988 series.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nC6LLjZEcsc

To me this is the definitive version of the theme.  I love the 60's arrangement but somehow this manages to be even better.  Damn shame the 80's revival hasn't been released on dvd; the original show was definitely better overall, but I enjoyed this one as well.

The movies wimped out by putting most of the theme in 4/4 time instead of the driving rhythm of 5/4.  But then the movies sux anyway, because they obliterated the entire concept of the show to make room for Tom Cruise's massive ego.  Mr. Phelps as the bad guy?  Seriously?  Peter Graves walked away from the movie as soon as he heard about that, and I don't blame him one bit.

definitely not my favourite album of theirs (but not as bad as Tormato), but that song's a great way to kill 20 minutes :)  I may have to listen to it again when I get home from work.

"Easy to Crash" - Cake

New album is brilliant, by the way.
