Nice work :)

2004 version looks awful. Some pictures only show a slight change between the avchd and revisited, but a change for the better nevertheless.
I love the new crater. Yet another logical addition by ady which GL and his team missed. Of all the things that make so much sense, yet they didn't add, this ranks the highest... so far...

Hello there hrgiger (how are you pronouncing that?)

I would say 'H.R. Gee-Gar' as in the Swiss artist famous for his 'Alien' design, H.R. Giger.

I was taking advantage of the compressed lower case presentation to present hrgiger a gentle leg-pull.

The way it was written reminded me of Dr. Hfuhruhurr from The Man With Two Brains.

^nice 1

The edit is looking very nice Ady....the recolouring in the Dagobah scenes have allowed natural blue tones to return.....can't wait to see more.

That new color palette looks awesome, Ady.  I wonder... one of the issues I had with ANH:R was that I felt the Death Star interiors were too desaturated, and appeared to be practically grayscale.  I know I was in the minority on that point, but I wasn't alone either.  Could this difference in palettes be related to that perception?

Keep up the great work!

no, the interiors of the death star was a deliberate decision to make them neutral grey to make them look more like a battleship with its gunship grey interiors. The colours were so messed up in the 2004 dvds that it became difficult to remove the horrible tint and bad colouring without losing subtle shades. I'm hoping that the Blu-Ray set will not have the same problems so i can use that as a basis for ANH:RHD

Ady, what can I say that others have not about the work, dedication, effort and love that you put into the Revisited Saga.

The color palette (even if it is a bit off from the conversion process) still looks a lot better than what we have been given by the Lucas team and this is gonna go down in history. I mean seriously, what you have done to improve what was before while staying true to what Star Wars is for most of us will forever be mentioned as the whole "Lucas vs the fans" debate. I think as long as there is a version of Star Wars there will be the Revisited Saga right along with it.

I think my question may have gotten lost in the shuffle so please forgive me if I repost it here:

To ADYWAN...Apologizing in advance if this has been addressed already...

During the Hoth battle after Luke crashes his Snowspeeder, there is a scene filmed but not shown in the movie which show's Luke attaching a detonator onto his upper left chest strap as he is still halfway in the Snowspeeder and is again seen as he has ascended at the At-At's belly.

my question is this: Will the scene (as seen in "building Empire") of Luke attaching the detonator be inserted into the ESB:R (its obvious as he is leaping from the Snowspeeder that there is no detonator attatched to the strap) or can it be added to that scene so it takes care of the continuity error since we see it attached a few shots later?

Some might say he pulled it out between shots from some hidden pocket and attached it to his jacket but I don't agree with that idea. IMHO.

Any thoughts about this?  Trying to get this back on topic and away from green/blue/red/pink laser debates, title mock-ups and wampa fur, ;-)

By the way 005, great job on the website.

Again thanks for all your hard work and the pic color update was refeshing.

I know of the scene you mentioned, but this was probably an alternate take/rehearsal and not  one that was going to be used in the movie and i don't think it was filmed because of what is seen in the movie it wouldn't fit in.  Actually there is no continuity error in this scene. Luke has the detonator in his left in the last shot before he dives out of the way and again as he jumps out of the way of the AT-AT foot.  Then it cuts to the command centre scene so Luke could easily have attached it during this time as he already has it with him.

Ah...I stand corrected...how could I have missed that? Gonna have to micro-manage my viewing before I post now, lol.

The new shot of the debris-strewn Probe Droid crater which matches the shot previous to it is a terrific improvement over the SE version.  Great stuff, and I really love the look of this particular enhancement now.

doubleofive -  now that's it's been shown, could you manage a comparison with the GOUT and SE versions if you get a chance sometime?  Thanks.

Too lazy. The 2004 is already there, and here's my other comparison:

The subtle stuff being added to this particular edit is terrific.

Those small things may not completely register as changes when you view the movie as a whole, but they fill in gaps in the presentation and the CONTINUITY. ;)

"Those small things may not completely register as changes when you view the movie as a whole, but they fill in gaps in the presentation and the CONTINUITY."

^^ Agreed. That's what's cool about this upcoming edit and ANHR. So many subtle little changes.

Anyway....great color corrections as usual AdY and thanks for the sneak peek.

Those little things are also part of what made the text commentary in ANH:R so fun and it'll be the same for ESB:R.

By the time all is said and done, which of the two will actually have more little changes/fixes in it? One would think ANH:R (partly because some of them were big and memorable), but I'm thinking ESB:R has just as many, if not more.

And it was such a 'perfect film' already. Haha. ;)

Hmm, that's too bad if there can't be text commentary, but understandable. That kinda answers the question above at the same time as well.

Maybe a text file in the DVD-ROM folder with running times for the changes instead?

And drawing on the comparisions like you did for ANHR might not work as you'd have arrows EVERYWHERE. ;-)

I imagine our first viewings of the edit are going to inevitably be a game of "spot the changes"....but ESB is so good it's hard not to get into the story.

Just overlay a yellow rectangle around the border of the entire movie, with text underneath that reads "everything highlighted in yellow has been altered." :)
