Alright let's tone down the dramatics of that statement. Did it really kill your best dreams?

Wow. That is so cool.

Now if it ever sees the light of day....

This blu-ray set really needs to be as all-inclusive as possible.

i'd actually like to c that in the film. too bad there are no training sabers anymore.

just a quickie. I mentioned a while ago that revisited will eb having a different colour pallet than the one that was seen on both my AVCHD SE & theatrical reconstruction DVD. The colour correction was never completed when i released those. So here is a set of comparisons between the 2004, AVCHD SE & the final Revisited colour: (just click on image to view full size)

Man, I got all Star Warsy again... Thanks for the pics, man! They look awesome!

Wow, that is beautiful. As much as I liked the removal of all the blue in the AVCHD, the new color correction is far more realistic and varied. Excellent work.

Yep, new colors are better. Adding back some blue is a smart move IMO.

Im still amazed how bad the 04 colors are.

But you seemed to pick a nice balance with the palette.

Wait, did you insert a blast crater for that probe droid shot?

Looks awesome, adywan! I'm especially impressed with the shot of Luke, which now has a beautifully varied color palette.

Yes, that's a beauty, as is the one of Yoda below it. I love that their skin tones look proper and the backgorund has some more color to it than on the AVCHD, especially the sky.

Good stuff! Boy, you sure did add a lot of color back into the scene with Han and the taun-taun! I dunno if I like that much blue in it, but it certainly helps it seem more like a scene at dusk rather than mid-afternoon or something.

Don't forget that you are viewing images that are using PC RGB (0-255) (plus imageshack has changed the embedded colour profile so the colours are slightly wrong on the screenshots), but the final DVD & Blu-Ray versions would be encoded in the standard Studio RGB (16-235).Here's an example below

This is why some edits i have seen are very dark looking. Because many mpeg2 encoders will encode using 0-255 scale instead of DVD/Blu-Ray standard. Also you should never attempt colour correction unless you are working in studio 16-235 or you will get a different looking final output if encoded with a good quality Mpeg2 encoder

We are all so lucky that you know your stuff, adywan.

Hey Ady, just curious how you colour corrected the Blockade Runner interior in Star Wars. I'm trying everything in Sony Vegas but can never get it as white as your version.

The computer RGB vs. 601 RGB issue is very important indeed.  In my color correction class here at school, I accidentally imported my SMPTE bars at computer RGB, then when we watched the final product in class it looked nothing at all like it did when I was working on it.

 (Edited)

sorry to butt in, i've been lurking for years, but have missed several months lately...  i have to ask, and you can kick me in the head if this has been beat to death:

"Has the horrible space slug arm puppet parachute pants been fixed?"

i really never even noticed it until I saw one of the first trailers ady released, and I almost fell off the roof.

i guess i was always looking at the mouth and the ship, but looking at the rim of the hole, it is so obvious that is a persons arm with a slug puppet and some sort of nylon going down the arm.  seeing the wrinkles as it misses the ship is just awful.

I'll be quiet now...

Hello there hrgiger (how are you pronouncing that?) it's been slowed to give it a bit more gravitas and it's surroundings have been spruced up no end but it's still the same puppet.

I'm not sure if Adywan has pulled any other magic out of his wizard's sleeve and used it on the beast since then.
