You could also have the droid armies invade loads of other famous castles and palaces which by strange coincidence also exist on Naboo (Castle Dracula, Castle Greyskull, Buckingham Palace, Disneyland/World etc).
Generating the standard response (falling into the meme thing) of :
The shots could be exactly the same each time just a different building until they stumble on Theed.
A quick one, but it can be funny on alot of different levels.

I meant adding a few bars of Born To Be Wild to Maul's cycle riding (I got the reference).
Re-dub Jar-Jar with Bugs Bunny or Goofy (depending on preference).
Upon reflection perhaps Roger Rabbit would be a better candidate.

I'm hoping to get the audio done this weekend.
My ONLY problem is that you can see Obi-wan dangling in the long shot as hes's still falling. other than that, I think its great!
As for the podrace, if you can't think of anything really funny, I'd just have it start, his ship stall, but everyone come out to greet him as if he's won. Like maybe its opposite day.

Damn. In all the times I've watched TPM, I've never ever noticed that. I always watch the sweet-ass laser sword action. Hmmm....
For the podrace, I had the thought of having Sebulba win. Ani never gets his pod started and Sebulba finishes first (using the end of lap 1 with him waving to the crowd). I like this idea quite a bit, but it removes the option of more silliness during the race, plus a major plot point discrepancy is created. Maybe just as a bonus feature...
The old lady in the market could give him a lottery ticket to collect and he runs off with the cash.
As for the duel falls, I'd cut a few of the first falls (it's a little too repetitive) but once the idea of jumping up again kicks in you could have him just miss (which works perfectly) then massively over jump so he goes right up in the air out of shot and then comes down again and then have Bobs shot of him looping around the bridge (the comedic rule of threes is usually a good guide).
Bingo you have some interesting ideas but I dunno how I would possibly implement most of them.
I did think of a neat spot for "you mean he's a...."

I'll have to see if Ani's dialogue can be cobbled together from his lines throughout the movie. I may also be able to go with a variant like "are you saying you're a..." or something like that.
I'm generally pleased with the duel as it stands, although I have an idea that would allow me to use the same number of falls in a slightly less repetitive way, plus fix the continuity goof that 005 noticed.

Agreed. It's funny, but feels a bit awkward when the same footage gets used twice. Maybe (and I'm sorry for my spelling here) fast forward the 2nd part of the 1st fall - you know, the part where you use the same footage again.
Like, have him gain more speed as he falls. That would also explain why it's so hard for him to stop. Cause of the speed, you see.
And to make it seem better you could also add a harder landing/crash sound-effect for the second time he lands on the platform.
I hope you get the idea!

Perhaps. I may play around with that idea.
I think the repetition works better when you see it with Bob's audio idea added ("Oh I have a bad feeling about this").

I don't know if you need any more footage for the duel in Theed, but there is a bit of unusued footage in the cut-scenes documentary on the TPM bonus disc. Pretty much at the end of the documentary. Check it out.
