I think if you overdo the repetition thing, it might wear out by this point in the movie...

IT'S MY TRILOGY, AND I WANT IT NOW!

"[George Lucas] rebooted the franchise in 1997 without telling anyone." -skyjedi2005

"Yeah, well, George says a lot of things..." a young 1997 xhonzi on RASSM

"They're my movies." -George Lucas. 19 people won oscars for their work on Star Wars (1977) and George Lucas wasn't one of them.

Are you thinking him overshooting (which is PERFECT, by the way) and having him fall multiple times? I think if you overdo the repetition thing, it might wear out by this point in the movie...

I agree.  I was just thinking one fall on the overshoot, the multiple fall gag having already been done on the previous go-round.

So we get the multiple-level fall the first time and he overshoots jumping back up?

And Bob, you have made my day!  Brilliant!

atm:

-multi fall (with Bob's "Oh I have a bad feeling about this)
-jump up
-kicked by maul (no fall, just hanging on ledge)
-pull up
-force push by maul (no fall)
-pull up
-kicked by maul
-one fall
-jump up, immediate fall back down (once)
-jump up, overshoot ("Not good"), one fall
-jump back up
-run to the pink forcefields

It's a combination of my stuff and a few of Bob's ideas (including the flipped shot of Obi forcing Maul back to get them closer to Obi - a brilliant idea!). This is still in progress, obviously.  I'm hoping to upload a final draft (other than the overshoot and jump back up) in the next few days, time willing.

The stock comedy swanee whistle drop noise will aid the longevity of the gag no end.

Hehe, yeah it needs some audio for sure.

Thanks everyone for the kind words about the clip. I pre-planned how I was gonna do this, and much to my suprise it all worked out pretty good the first time around.

Took about 45 min to do (not counting render time)

One mask to block out the real Obi.

Then I stabilized the background cause it moves just alittle.

I had the background footage bounce between playing forward and backward to extend the time of the shot.

Then a quick mask around Obi jumping, that I also slowed down using the Twixter plugin. Then I copied that mask footage 3 times. And again had to footage play forward, backward, then forward again. To extend the jump time.

Then I just had to postion where the jump would start. Where the jump would be highest, and where it would end. And place the masked Obi shots in the right place.

I didnt even preview this before I rendered. Just said to hell with it. I'll render it, and whatever needs fixing I'll get to tomorrow. But I think it already looks pretty damn sweet.

At least sweet enough to still make me laugh everytime I see it.

Exactly!

Any thoughts on how to get him back up on the high catwalk?  It can't just be flipped because the catwalk is not centered.

My free interwebs netbook > your nonexistant free interwebs netbook because I didn't tell you about the deal until it was over and I got one and you didn't.  And then I bring it up and rub it in and tell everyone (but especially you) how sweet it is?  Don't you wish you had one too?  Well too bad, because I didn't tell you about.  But I think I already said that.  Nah-nah-nee-boo-boo!

 Hence: The List.

What needs to happen for this edit is to the B-list actors on the cover. Epic style.

Someone needs to make a cover that makes it look like Ric and Panaka are the main characters.
