I'm from Germany and I have to say that I don't have much faith in the political class of my country anymore.

Neither do I. And I'm not an anarchist - I like order and stabilization. But I can't honestly go and vote on some party/politician with a clear conscience. Why?
The point is that political scene in Poland got messed up in mid-1990s, when we all thought that overthrowing the commies (and subsequent death of Soviet Union) had solved all our problems. But the right wing divided itself into small groups arguing with each other (inner quarrels about politics is our national vice). The left wing (post-communists) was not delegalised when it was still the time (because Lech Walesa was too idealistic and too liberal, trusting the nation that the people won't choose old "red spiders" again.) and it started to grow in number as people became dissatisfied with right wing rule. People were naively thinking that we will ZAP! instantly earn as much as in US, that the skyscrappers will grow after the rain like mushrooms and everybody gets Rolls-Royce for nothing. So they turned their faces to lefties and they started they usual job: exploiting their power to make their own little fortunes. Right now we're fed up with both quarreling righties and stealing lefties, the same faces which only shuffle with each elections to Parliment.
Some people are still naive and think that our membership in EU will solve everything. But it is only our work that can change things for better. I'm neither euro-enthusiast, nor die-hard anti-unionist. But EU issue is a story for another thread
