To ADYWAN...Apologizing in advance if this has been addressed already...

During the Hoth battle after Luke crashes his Snowspeeder, there is a scene filmed but not shown in the movie which show's Luke attaching a detonator onto his upper left chest strap as he is still halway in the Snowspeeder and is again seen as he has ascended at the At-At's belly.

my question is this: Will the scene (as seen in "building Empire") of Luke attaching the detonator be inserted into the ESB:R (its obvious as he is leaping from the Snowspeeder that there is no detonator attatched to the strap) or can it be added to that scene so it takes care of the continuity error since we see it attached a few shots later?

Some might say he pulled it out between shots from some hidden pocket and attached it to his jacket but I don't agree with that idea. IMHO.

Any thoughts about this?  Trying to get this back on topic and away from green/blue/red/pink laser debates, title mock-ups and wampa fur, ;-)

By the way 005, great job on the website.

Hello.

I'm new to these forums, but I watched Adywan's ANH:R and was astounded by the level of detail worked on to deliver such great revisions. I was wondering if there's any chance of ESB being released ever or has Adywan dropped off the map?

Also, I had a question. I grew up in the Prequel era, unfortunately, and I've had my eyes opened by the Plinkett reviews. The more I watch the original trilogy, the more I love it (ESB above all). The question I had was in regards to a line of Vader's that was changed in the SE from something like, "Bring my shuttle," to "Alert my Star Destroyer to prepare for my arrival." I never heard the former, but I love the latter and the shot of the walk to the shuttle. I understand this is a great issue of contention with purists due to both the tone and disruption of the scene's flow. I understand it's a stupid excuse to explain how Vader gets back to the Executor.

My question is, could someone find a clip of the original line and post it here or PM it to me, if possible? I can't find it anywhere online, so if you could perhaps upload it to YouTube, that would be most appreciated.

Thanks.

Adywan doesn't post for a few days and everyone starts freaking out! It's ok that the thread slows down. It's a discussion board, it's possible that we don't always have something to discuss!

As for "Bring My Shuttle", im sure someone can accommodate you. It's more of a growl, and probably one of my favorite Vader lines. Welcome to the boards!

He's come this far, he's not giving up now.  Real life interferes every now and then - his dad has been very sick, he's had some computer problems from time to time and he's building some models and props to film replacement shots because he can't do much with certain existing ones.  He also gets flooded with emails and PMs so he tries to condense his posts to respond to several people/issues at once.

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

Bring my shuttle!

For comparison's sake - Alert my star destroyer to prepare for my arrival.

Not a fan of the new line.  Vader's supposed to be furious at losing Luke, and he sounds furious in the original line.  He doesn't even sound mildly annoyed in the new one.

Also, if you haven't seen the pre-Special Edition (1977, 1980, 1983) versions of the original trilogy, I strongly advise you to.  They're available in 4:3 letterbox form in the individually-sold 2-disc "Limited Edition" DVDs (on disc 2), or on the 6-disc Original Trilogy box set (also disc 2 of each movie).

For higher quality, there are fan-made preservations and enhancement of the aforementioned DVDs available on line.  In particular, Dark_Jedi's GOUT V3 will be released soon, which promises to be the best version available of the films in their original form.

And welcome to the forum!

It's the best delivery in the entire trilogy! So angry, dark and too the point.

And welcome to the boards, EvixVortana!

He sounds cocky. I can almost hear a swagger in that second line.

Oh, I'm interested in actual news.  Just not everything else that pops up on this thread, and I don't think you could control that on twitter like you could with the blog.

?

The only thing that shows up on my Twitter feed is things I say or "retweet". Even conversations I have with other people don't show up unless you follow them also.

Mostly its me searching for mentions of "Adywan" or "Star Wars Revisited" and responding to them. ;-)

Is it wrong that I find the new line both horribly amusing and entertaining?  It must be the tone... It's gotta be the tone!

If I recall correctly, "alert my Star Destroyer" is an unused line from the recording sessions for Star Wars, and is why it sounds so odd.  Take a listen, then watch the original film (the non-Revisited version with the original audio); it really does sound more like it fits there than in ESB, where James Earl Jones pitched his voice to the way we're now used to hearing it.  Ol' Vader was a bit more of a higher-pitched hothead in that one, particularly when interrogating Rebel prisoners on captured transports. :-)

That the story. My only problem with that is that:

a. They're not called Star Destroyers in ANH.
2. There is no time where Vader is headed to his Star Destroyer in ANH. He's either on his Star Destroyer, on the Death Star, or in his TIE Fighter.
q. It still sounds off.

EDIT:

~. "Bring my shuttle" is awesome.

EDIT2:

When I heard the line in Ady's theatrical reconstruction, I got chills. I didn't even know I missed it that much.

Wow. Thanks for all the quick responses. It's great to hear Adywan's still working on it. The only thing I knew about ESB:R was the date of the trailer from 2008 or something, and I couldn't find anything more recent in terms of news or updates. Just to know that it's on his mind and he is alive is good enough for me.

As for the line, I want to offer my sincerest thanks to Chainsaw for providing both lines for comparison. In my personal opinion, growing up in the prequel era along with SE versions only, I like the colder and controlled tone of the new line. I found (and bought) a used 1990 box set of the original trilogy (without episode numbers; just the titles), so I'm going to watch them tomorrow and do some comparison with my 2004 DVD editions.

And thanks for the warm welcome, everyone!

I would think growing up in the prequel era, you would prefer Darth Vader to be hard-to-control and quick to anger as Hayden Christensen portrayed Anakin. If anything, I think the way Vader delivers "Bring me my shuttle" is one of the more quintessentially Anakin-sounding lines.

The music heard over "Bring my shuttle" is far better than the music heard over "Alert my Star Destroyer," too.

Although I grew up with the SE editions, and can dream them, the "bring my shuttle" line feels out of place to me, just used to the other thing.

BUT! In concept of the situation and the characters, the "bring my shuttle" line is SO much more appropriate, that they should have never replaced it.

You mean the music is better utilized over "Bring my shuttle"

No, I'm fairly certain it's a different cue, necessitated by the addition of all those pointless "flying to the Executor" shots.  They're definitely both based around the Imperial March, but they're not the same cue.

^I was going to say this too, but then a voice in my head said "don't feed it"
