Get my point?
I don't think that's the real point. Just think, if TPM and AOTC were not part of the Star Wars saga, I'd find them confusing, yet great movies. It would have fans, like SW has. But the thing is, we keep comparing it to the OT, we are desperatedly trying to find something to connect us to the OT, like Vader, the empire, Tie-Fighters, Luke, Solo... That's why GL is bringing (****Spoiler****) Chewbacca back to episode 3 (****end of spoiler****). And when we see such characters as Jar Jar, a child Anakin, Padmé, we fail to make that conection. I mean, try to remember what went through your minds when you saw the death star plans on episode 2...
But then again, yes, the PT has some corny dialog, not-so-good acting, and some flaws, and that adds up to what I've said. That's why some fans hate it...
