Is this a real discussion or did I suddenly go into some strange bizzaro world for this edit where folks are talking about teeth? :p

Anal retentive or what!? I'm amazed some peeps on here made it more than 10 mins into any of the Star Wars Special Editions with all the gaffes/ CG atrocities and continuity errors - must make their heads explode!

I'm all for attention to detail but there has to be a limit. When peeps are asking for things like potato asteroid being removed, highlighting something that appears on a single frame and now this - then you've gone too far. Give adywan some credit. His work is amazing and his decision-making is spot-on. I hate for him to get bogged down on a single scene which is already awesome - when there is a WHOLE FILM to edit.

Just to clarify, my post (which mentions teeth) was to back up Adywan's response to the sort of subatomic-critique of his work you mention.

Not part of it.

I can see why people do it and I think it comes from a genuine desire to assist Adywan to get the best out of what he is doing.

When people donate time, advice, ideas, equipment and funds to this project they do so so that Ady can make his edit not so that Ady can make their edit.

When I see these later preview clips I'm really uncomfortable about making suggestions because I appreciate how much work has already gone into getting the footage to look the way it does and I do not want to have Adywan work on this one film for the rest of his life and want to let him off the hook to move onto other things.

These are Ady's projects and his threads.

It's understandable that when a new video is put out people will pick it to pieces and try to make suggestions (often in ignorance of what is possible).

My advice (which he is obviously free to ignore) to Ady is you don't have to try and please everyone or indeed anyone but yourself.

If an idea catches your eye, appeals to you and you think you might be able to do it by all means give it a go but if you try to please everyone you will make yourself ill, probably not be happy with the final result and still not succeed in pleasing everyone.

Posting preview videos keeps the project active in the minds of people following it, possibly helps to raise donations and prompts the odd idea which might be useful but I imagine this late in the day you have your mind made up for the rest of this one.

I'm amazed at what you have managed to achieve and can't wait to see the final product.
