I don't really have a problem with the Emperor's theme but I wouldn't mind if it wasn't there.

Like muddyknees, I also didn't much like the addition of the Imperial March because it is such a notorious piece of music, that it never goes unnoticed by me and therefore takes me out of the movie every time.

And the addition of prequel music felt completely wrong for me, as I tend to ignore the existence of the prequels when I watch the real STAR WARS and being reminded of their existence in one of the coolest sequences of the original film isn't something I'd appreciate. When I watched STAR WARS B.P. ( before prequels ;-)  ) I could imagine what Vader's and Ben's lines during their fight meant as something great. Now I'm forced to remember the boring 10hrs long perfectly choreographed fighting sequence with atrocious acting and dialogue being thrown at me here and there. And having to listen to the music that was used in that fight only reinforces that :-(

But on the other hand, there seem to be many people who enjoy these additions, so like I already said, there's no need for a Purist Edit, all that needs to be done to please most people is to put in a Purist audio mix. And it wouldn't even be necessary to do that, just release the Purist mix separately and anyone who wants it can mux it in themselves.
