PCs have a lot more compatibility with add-ons that he uses for Adobe After Effects

Probably.  More people use Windows, so there will be more add-ons made for the Windows version of After Effects.

The thing is, After Effects add-ons are there to make complex tasks simpler.  If you already know how to do the complex task, you don't need the add-on.

they are not powerful enough to handle what he does

Wait, what?  That's bullshit.  I don't believe Adywan said that.

That's a hardware issue.  It has nothing to do with whether you're running Windows or OS X - if you don't have enough RAM, or a good enough video card, then yeah, it won't be able to handle high-quality video work.  The same thing is true on Windows.

Also, for Adywan to work on a Mac, he'd need to spend a lot more money on his equipment, since - as I've conceded in this thread - Apple products are overpriced.  So naturally he'd stick with the less-expensive hardware.

he can expand storage/memory/videocards on the fly

You can do that with a Mac Pro insanely easily.  Apple laptops and iMacs, yeah, probably not very easy, but Mac Pros are more easily customizable hardware-wise than any Windows machine I've ever worked with.

I hope Adywan sees this and adds his opinion to all this because he's going to own you.

Haha, I really don't think Adywan gives a flying fuck about Mac vs. PC.  He uses a PC because he's used to it, he taught himself PC-centric workflows for what he does, and it's cheaper than working with Macs.  You could very easily do everything Adywan does on a Mac, and I don't think he'd contest that fact.

Besides, "He's going to own you"?  What the hell?  Are you twelve?  There isn't a right or wrong here - Microsoft and Apple both have their pros and cons.  Which one you choose is a personal decision - I'm not wrong for choosing Apple, and you're not wrong for choosing Microsoft.

The main reason I'm responding to all your complaints is that you seem to have a very distorted, incorrect view of what Macs are, so I'm trying to correct your inaccuracies.  That's all.  I'm not trying to get into a pissing contest with you here.
