If you're still working on this edit, I highly recommend you find a way to use that footage as a base.
That was always the intent... I will be using the ALIEN theatrical cut on the blu-ray as the base.
One thing that I was really tense over was those scenes I mentioned earlier regarding the last ALIEN dvd release (concerning the "Brett looking for Jonesy in the cargo room" and most of the Alien scenes - the prior had a copper wash over the entire image and most if not all of the Alien scenes had a desaturated blue wash over the image).
Thankfully, Ridley must have reconsidered these changes, as the copper and blue tints are gone, and ALIEN looks proper with a natural color timing.
