Was really lame to read about the problem Ady had with that guy. People are so damn strange sometimes, especially to people they communicate with but have never met. Been a rather sparse and inconsistant poster but almost daily reader of this thread and this just struck me as so much more mean-spirited than anything I've read before here. Never knew such things went on in the PM underbelly of OT.

I've sent a small donation I hope helps. The taken back donation is just lame as hell.  Whether he meant to overdraft the account or not it happened only out of him trying to get Adys attention and then even after learning of the fee assessed to Ady (knowing the crap he's going through) he didn't even try to help. A sad, sad person.

On topic tho, I really wanna see the 3-D zoom effect you mentioned. Is it similar to that Cloud City vane shot I saw on FB a while back?

Hey look, a bear!

I apologize for bringing up old issues, but Adywan, your bank account is already empty? What happened to that money I gave you? That wasn't exactly chump change. You spent it all, already? I don't think you got my email, but I did say I would prefer you spend that on computer storage than stuff to make that damn wampa, which I am still reluctant to believe you can pull off.

I know it's not practical to save several terabytes of data on a home computer, but maybe other people would be willing to hold the files of ESB:R or maybe you could just try burning the files to a lot of blu-ray disks when they come down in price? Just burn the stuff that you need to recreate it if a desire comes down the road to do more to it after you are done. Are you planning on saving the files when you are done?

I'm glad I didn't attach conditions to any money I gave.  Sheesh.

Hey Ady, got a question for ya.

I was watching the Original version of Empire tonight and something kept bugging me...so I put in the SE and figured out this was something that may need to be fixed, or not.

After the battle of Hoth as Luke is telling R2 "get her ready for take-off" a pilot ( think its Wedge) say's "Good luck, Luke. See you at the rendezvous."

What I noticed by playing the Original and the SE simultaniously is the SE has different timing on that particular phrase.

In the original version Wedge makes the "Good Luck" comment as he starts to wave but the SE has him state the same comment after he completes his wave.

Now I know this may be a minor thing to some but to me this is the kind of thing that bugs me about how Lucas has messed up the OT. I had the privilage to see the OT as they were released from day one so the SE and all the subtle changes kinda bug me, but not as much as the coloring   ;-)

Thanks for your hard work and dedication to making this Revisited edit.

Side note- wouldnt it be a funny thing if at some point as Ady finishes up the OT someone throws him a "Original Trilogy Revisited Celebration I"? I know about 30 or 40 people that would attend just to meet Adywan.

I know!! Kenobi's Tray pulls a douchey stunt and whiny folks come out of the woodwork wanting money back.

It isn't like he is buying beer and hookers with your money guys, he is using it for the project.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

If it helps him relax, I have no problem with this. ;-)

What nerve. I mean seriously. He's going to build the "damn wampa" and spend money on his computer, so just imagine each night when you crawl in bed that he's spending it on what you want him to spend it on. When the project is done, it won't matter whose money went to what. It all went to the project.

LOL....Paypal told me "Your donation is complete."and I then changed Vader's words to Obi-Wan immediately in my head to

"Your donation is now complete. When I left you, I was but the reader; now I am the donator."

Good luck, Ady!  I will donate again in future...

I believe Ady was quite clear that donations would go toward completion of ESB:R. When you donated you agreed to let him use it on whatever aspect of the project he saw fit.

To Ady: best of luck in your personal life. I admire you for still going on no matter what crap life brings your way.

Hiya,

certain posts from the not-too-distant past inspired me to join this forum and give a donation to Adywan.

I have been following this thread on a on- and off basis for some time now, I enjoyed the ANH-R DVD very much and am so glad to have this version.. as probably everyone here is. You make a whole bunch of nerds very happy, thanks!

Even if your "condition" was reasonable, which it is not.....what objective evidence do you have that Ady didn't do EXACTLY as requested by you?  And an apology for something you are about to do is no apology.... it is a lame justification.

So again.... what did you achieve by the above post?

ady, I love what you've been doing with the Star Wars franchise, but what I really admire is how you're still doing your magic with all the crap you have to go through with some of it's fanbase.

If a moderator won't do it, I will.

EVERYONE STFU ABOUT MONEY SENT AND MONEY SPENT!

Ady said he was short on cash for the project, and it was your call to donate or not. If you donate, no matter how much you would like to add conditions, when it comes down to the end of the day, you can't enforce shit, so sit down and shut the fuck up.

Make a donation and leave it at that. No refunds, no complaining. You should be smart enough to consider every outcome surrounding the donation - ex: what it will be used on, how it will be used, the finished product, etc.

And even if the Wampa scene doesn't turn out the way everyone expects, too bad. Look at it this way, you gave ady the materials and he had the opportunity to try something new and learn some new skills - be happy for that.

And honestly if people are going to think "A-Man's just saying that cause he's donating like a sheep" - screw you, because first of all I don't have money to donate - I'm in debt from Film School, slowly paying off debts with scholarships and hopefully a new part time job - if I had excessive amounts of money to not only pay for my productions but also ady's, I would do it in a heart beat. Ady has shown tremendous passion and dedication to this and your donations can compliment it. If you don't want to make a donation, then don't. If you do, great. But think first before you click "Send" over at PayPal because even if ady might give it back (which I wouldn't), you can't expect an apology or a refund because that's not how donations work.

And please, I implore other posters that if further issues with donations arise amongst posters, ignore them and let ADY (or a Mod, accordingly) address the issue.

I'm ignoring any more comments about my donation question. You guys are escalating everything way out of proportion.

Come on, everyone! For the past several pages, the majority of the posts here have been nothing but personal attacks and senseless arguing over non-ESB related opinions. Finding a worthwhile post that actually pertains to ESB:R is like finding a needle in a haystack. It's true that some of our members have done some pretty crappy things, but let's not forget that we're all Star Wars fans and fans of Adywan's amazing work. We are here to foster OPEN DISCUSSION with the hope that said discussion will have a POSITIVE IMPACT on Ady's current project.

Let's all take a moment to remember why we log into these forums each day. We are here to unite, not to fight amongst ourselves--I mean, how could such behavior possibly be productive? When someone says something we disagree with, I'm sure we can find a way to express our opinions maturely and articulately. We're all adults here... right?

Does an 825-year-old little boy count? If I'd known I would be stuck at the same age for 1,000 years, I would've waited to drink that serum until I was 21. :(

When I donate money to something I do it on trust as a sign of support.

I trust Ady to spend any money I send him where he sees fit because I support the work he does, I don't expect anything in return and hope his work is to his satisfaction when he is finished doing it.

I would send him another donation right away if my spare change hadn't been diverted elsewhere recently.

Sometimes expenses on something like this avalanche all at once, it's just the way of the world.

In relation to TIE fighter colours. This is the EFX model apparently scanned from a screen used TIE righter and is the colour of the screen used model. I remember reading something about people having a conversation about whether they should be blue or grey. The above picture is what the model was the film and or after effects may of changed it. Hopefully this picture is accurate in original colour and could be used.

I don't know what lighting this picture was taken but I guess it was lit up for publicity shots for EFX.
