Even if it is said that it is not an official Bond movie, the hype that a Tarantino-directed Bond flick would get would make it associated with the Bond series by default, even if just in the minds of the fans. That would be all it would take.

I, too, like the suave and witty Bond. But I just think that Dalton's contribution in License to Kill gets unfairly frowned upon. Why can't Bond take matters into his own hands when his best friend is killed? I sure as hell would. Luke Skywalker did when Vader threatened to turn his sister to the Dark Side. That was no Jedi action there. That was sheer malice. But I don't hear people complaining about how un-Jedi-like Luke is in that scene.
