Thanks for the PM Harmy.  I pulled down ROTJ:PDE over the weekend but now I'm having a problem mounting the ISO.  DT Lite and DT Pro are both saying 'Windows cannot read from this disk. The disk might be corrupted, or it could be using a format that is not compatible with Windows.'

I'm on XP SP3 - is there some trick to mounting this that I'm not aware of?  I'm googling as we speak so yes I'm looking for alternative software.  Unfortunately I'm at work so a lot of downloads (.exe etc) are blocked otherwise I would've tried this BluRayBerry program...

Thx.

EDIT: Ok NM, I was able to use IsoBuster to extract the m2ts file and then everything was good.  Looks great!  Can't wait to get this muxed/burned and watch it!

This is really exciting.  I’ve really enjoyed viewing the HD versions, but mostly just watch clips.  I really cant stand getting pulled out of the movie via the SE changes.

A PM would be appreciated – thanks for taking on this project!

OK, guys, I figured it was about time I re-uploaded the PDE Jedi with the fixed audio (I found out megaupload works better for me than RS so I can do it now) and I thought it would be good to add hairy_hen's 5.1 mix and replace the low-bit-rate GOUT audio with a higher bitrate 2.0 from Belbucus' audio.

Also, my previous 5.1 mix, which was unprofessionally put together by me, was patched by the same low-bit-rate GOUT Audio. So hairy_hen's 5.1 will replace my old mix and will be the new 5.1 audio.

Hopefully I'll be able to do this during next week as I'm quite busy working on my ROTJ DVD reconstruction and also the exam period is upon me :-)

For those of you who'd like to add these mixes to the version you've already got, you can do that the same way as you applied the original audio-fix.

Hi. I recently attempted to uprez the original theatricals myself (sourced from the bonus discs on the 2008 NTSC DVD release) using various settings with Infognition's Video Enhancer but the results were disappointing to say the least. Then I thought I'd investigate online and see if anyone had more success putting together HD versions of the originals. I just discovered this thread and am blown away by the time, effort, and care you've put into this project. If you are still sending PMs to the links, I would greatly appreciate one. Thanks!

Harmy, I think you would have to send this guy a PM even if you weren't already sending them to everyone who asked.

Best. Username. Ever.

EDIT: A simple google search revealed he did not come up with the idea.

EDIT 2:  I suppose it's possible, though unlikely, that this guy is Scott Johnson or Mark Turpin...

Regardless, awesome username.

Yeah, I totally LOLed, great username.

Anyway, Admiral Snackbar, (ha ha, it's even fun to write) you're in luck, because I just finished uploading the v1.2 of Jedi with much better sound. PM sent.

PS. Just making sure you know, these are not fully restored originals, more like hybrid versions but they do remove the IMO most offensive changes and are colour corrected.

Anyway, if anyone is interested in Jedi v1.2, here are the specs:

RETURN OF THE JEDI - PARTLY DESPECIALIZED EDITION 1080p AVCHD v1.2

VIDEO:

Resolution: 1920x1080p

Codec: AVC

Frame rate: 23,976 fps

Bit rate: 6795Kbps

AUDIO:

1) 5.1 EN 448Kbps

2) 5.1 EN 448Kbps

3) 2.0 EN 384Kbps

4) 2.0 CZ 256Kbps

SOURCES:

Video:

HDTV (1080p broadcast of the 2004 version)

DVBt (anamorpic PAL broadcast of the 1997 version)

DVD (2006 nonanamorphic DVD of the 1983 original version)

Sound:

1) hairy_hen's 5.1 custom mix based on the 1993 mix, with the Special Edition LFE chanel added, and deleted music restored to the Obi-Wan scene

2) hairy_hen's 5.1 purist mix based on the 1993 mix, with the Special Edition LFE chanel added, but without the restored music

3) Belbucus' 2.0 1993 LaserDisc PCM capture

4) Harmy's 2.0 1992 Czech VHS dubbing capture

What has changed:

The whole cut was conformed to be in sync with the soundmixes of the original 1980 version.

Over-all basic colour correction was done with special care to restore the original look of the lightsabres.

Lapti Nek, the original Sarlacc pit scene and the ending celebration (including the Anakin ghost) were restored very close to the original version.

When burned to a DVD9, this should play in PS3 and most Blu-Ray players.
