This is all new to me, so i'll write out the challenges as I come across them. (the short version I cannot adequately review this at the moment)

Downloads are fine. Currently have two segments which i've expanded and that should be the first minute or two. Seems to be a traditional VIDEO_TS, and in VLC, you get what Neptune was showing, two side by side images. The right looking like a normal file, just squooshed and the left has some process applied to it. Very apparent when looking at the opening crawl

So the first problem is to find a player. from FAQ's like this:

http://www.dzignlight.com/stereo/erics_stereoscopic_faq.shtml#macintosh

There are no Mac 'stereoscopic player'

Was able to find this PC one:

http://www.3dtv.at/Downloads/Index_en.aspx

Ok so open Neptune's VIDEO_TS into 'Stereoscopic Player'

asks for audio : use Ulead DVD

asks for Stereoscopic Input Format : go with the first option "Interlaced (Field Sequential), Right Line First"

(btw, have my Avatar 3d glasses on)

So lesson learned, these 3D Half-SBS files require 3DTVs, DUH. Reading the FAQ at 3dtv.at, the movie theater glasses will not work, Dolt2.

Conclusion: I'm 3D retarded. Was hoping I could play these in some fashion, but not from what I currently know.

Wait a second, under File is an options called 'Multi-view', ok the 'Sensio' option looks like the old skool blue/red shifted 3d.  and now it seems that the trial version of Stereoscopic Player only gives you 5 minutes.

Neptune, what do you use to play these things?

Oddly, poked around and there's a TPM in 3D Half-SBS on usenet. If I can make sense of it, will post caps. Maybe having two different movies to cross compare still, will be a beginning way to appreciate 3D.  But the key is probably getting the 3DTV with all the bells and whistles.
