Agreed. It was a pain at first, but do a little reading and you'll get the hang of it pretty quick. Hang in there!

Hahaha. Not exactly what I was looking for - but perhaps what I needed? Haha. I guess I just have to party like it's 1999 with that thing.
I know it's a weird program at first, but since most fan edits are not released as torrents, it really is the best way of getting them. You can set it and forget rather than babysitting the downloads. Before jDownloader, I'd be losing 7 or 8 hours of downloading time overnight, plus any time I just wasn't around the computer during the day. I even used to set the alarm on my watch so I could set up the next file to download without wasting any time. :p What might take half a day now used to take 2 or 3 days [or longer] sometimes!
Plus, we get massive speed from Megaupload, even as free users. I can get an entire DVD in a couple of hours or less.
I'm just having difficulty devoting time to mastering the suddenly complex art of downloading. Talk of scripts and all that nonsense - it's not for me. I used all my energy figuring out shit like this back in the days when everything was necessarily complicated.
And again just the fact that my router is not listed is a very bad sign. The instructions for setting it up on fanedit.info did not reflect the UI I was looking at either. Fetching the routher IP address gets the wrong address, etc etc. It's just annoying.
Well, I've downloaded 1 GB of the film, in bizarre 100 MB increments over the last 24 hours. It does not reconnect properly but somehow it has happened. At this rate within five days I'll have the whole movie, but I don't know if I can bear to go through with it. It took me far less time to torrent Revisited which was nearly twice the size.
Scrips? Router list? UI?
I've never heard of any of this with jdownloader. Most people just feed it the links and off it goes.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

PM sent.

There's this whole thing with reconnecting that's just ridiculous. It did start fine when I opened the .DLC but then stopped. I can't make heads nor tales of it since then. It does seem to have stopped for good at 1GB and I'll be ****ed if I can adjust the settings for reconnecting properly without powers of concentration I don't possess.
I have to say that after a few hiccups (mostly down to dead DLC's which were swiftly fixed) I've never had a problem with the thing.
A lovely bit of open source freeware that works like a dream once you get your head around the simple basics.
Some or all of the links appear to have been deleted. That's probably why he's been having trouble with jdownloader.
One big tip I can give is to make sure all the latest updates are installed. That can make a huge difference.
If the DLC is on the blip a brief message to the mods at another place usually gets the thing fixed again.
If some of the links are gone, I recommend posting about it over on fanedit.org and someone might be able to re-up it.
Cantina, jdownloader usually gives you error messages which can give the rest of us a clue as to what is going on.
Also, I've had the same experience as Ripplin in that updating often helps.
Update: confirmed offline at fanedit.org. Now have to wait and see if someone can re-upload it.
Thanks for figuring that out guys. If missing links are to blame then I will feel slightly less frustrated.
Though my original intent was to get that edit and I am apparently no closer to doing so, hahaha. I think I'll shelve my ambitions to acquire the Purist version of Revisited for now!
The Darth Editous edit is the missing one. The Purist version of adywan's ANH:R is probably still up. Post in the ANH:R thread and see if someone can help you.
Ok I will do that, at least. If anyone comes across a conduit to the DE version, please let me know.
I have it somewhere back home if anybody wants me to snail mail it to them in order to put back online. The DVD may be dead by now, though.
I'll be home around Thanksgiving.

Bibbity Bumpity Boo.
I'm wondering if Darth Editous is planning on returning to this now that the BDs are out. His work is very nice, and it's pretty cool to have an alternate Special Edition to ANH:R. I can't find a V3 out there anywhere, and now I find myself hoping that he'll come back to work on V4.
TV's Frink, since you've generously been uploading stuff to fanedit.info, I was wondering if you might be willing to put V3 on your upload list? Purty please :)
Don't have this, sorry. Try asking on FE.org, maybe.
Last time I asked for something like that on FE.org I get busted :(
???
Can you post a link?
To reply to a few PMs which, despite my general lazy failure to reply to, I am heartened to receive, I don't have a copy either.

I'm wondering if my error was not that I made a request, but that I did it in that thread. But since I assumed right away that I wasn't supposed to make any requests at all like that, I didn't press any further. I don't really go there much so I'm not so familiar with the rules and etiquette.
@Darth Editous, :( Thanks for letting me know. I'm guessing you won't be finishing V4 then?
Is there anyone who has a copy of this and is willing to upload it? I'd also be pleased with the Darth Editous/ADigitalMan hybrid, though it would be nice to have both. I'd love a PM.
_ender, you are correct in that you posted the request in the wrong place. Try here:
