People at Blu-ray.com are still still calling us wrong and saying shit like the changes made were done by the creator of the movies, not someone like Ted Turner so our points are invalid.

Oh yeah, kenkraly has new posts up too.

God help us all.

Are they referring to ot.com specifically, or fans who want the originals in general? My past experience lurking over there was they were unaware of this site. They certainly didn't know about the Boston screening at the time.

Where were you in '77?

No, they are referring to people that want the OOT on Blu-ray in general.  Or, the "whiners" and "fanboys."

I still think it is funny that Lucas has preached 'Saga, Saga, Saga, no trilogies, the movies are supposed to be watched 1-6' for the past 10 years, yet he releasing the OT seperately on BluRay.

I guess Lucas gave up with his vision :)

Speaking of the Blu Ray re-release, has anyone else noticed that the new Krayt Dragon roar is on the official Soundboards?

Qué?

What's the official soundboard?

That's not the same sound as in the book.

Thanks Frink. Is it under "creatures?"

I bet that's from a video game or Clone Wars or some shit.

They're licking up anything Lucas puts out, and we're the fanboys?

(I'm new here, hi.)

Indeed.  "Fanboy" is now a loosely thrown insult to, well, fans of all types.

Sadly, we seem to be in a minority :-( Although on the HTF, the discussion seems to be about 50:50 but that is quite understandable, because that forum is for home theatre and film enthusiasts, not the general public.

Btw: Welcome, Quackula, I'm happy for every new soul that joins the cause :-)

(LOL, that reminded me of my French friend, who fights for the lesbian cause but the way she pronounces it, it sounds like she's fighting "for ze cows," I never told her but I find it immensely funny :-D )

And he writes the same sh*t everywhere:

Kenkraly @ HTF:

This will be a day long remembered the star wars saga finaly on blu-ray disc in september 2011. I will be pre-ordering the set at the end of auguest of 2011. Great News Indeed. I know some fans are upset that the original cuts won't be on the blu-ray but for me I like both versions. Their are some changes in the Special Editions I don't like greedo shot 1st and the 1st cgi jabba in 1997 but over all I like the speocal editions of the original trilogy and I also like the prequels. No matter which versions of the ot comes out on blu-ray is fine with me.

I am in agreement with everyone here that the original cuts of the ot need to be preserve on the blu-ray for historical perspective's. I will buy the box set no matter which cuts are on the blu-rays I like both versions of the ot.

agree with that 100% percent.

I will buy the blu-rays of the star wars flims no matter if it's both or just the se verions in the set.

As a member of that forum, I see that shit everyday.  It's very political with its rhetoric.

To them we are "Star Wars Fans", while they are "Real Star Wars Fans".

Since they're like poetry, what with the rhyming and all, I find that I only need to watch three out of the six films.

To kenkraly's credit (dare I say?), at least he usually says that he agrees that the original version should be released.  Many of the Lucas apologists seem to actively NOT want the originals to be released (which I find positively wierd and even offensive).  That one little concession of kenkraly's seems to have been learned here.  It took many months for us to insert that thought into his auto-looping brain, but now it's there and seems to pop up in most of his repetitive posts.  One small step...

Yeah, I thought that too. It's good that he says that. That's an opinion I can actually respect: I like the SEs too, so I'll buy the Blu-Rays but I'd like to see the originals as well.

But that doesn't change the fact that he's funny B-)

I posted it in new topic, but I will post it here too:

Interestingly, it seems that Lowry Digital, the firm who restored the films for the previous DVD release are once again restoring the trilogy with a little more time up their sleeve than the 3 months they had to previously work within. Interestingly, Chairman John Lowry allegedly made comments that implied that they were also restoring the original cuts of the film too, but no announcements in regards to content have been confirmed. I guess this time next year we will know for sure...

Kenkraly about this site:

Those trolls at originaltrilogy.com are mean and disrespectfull.

That sounds great. I actually really like the job that Lowry has done on the 2004 set (if it is indeed true that the colour issues weren't their fault). Who knows, maybe kenkraly was right after all :-)

Hmm, what's going on in the thread today?
