I love having the films I like in some touchable form, I don't like this whole download thing, I don't feel like I have a film unless I can touch it.

There are so many jokes here...

(For what it's worth, I agree with you Harmy when it comes to movies.  Music, however...)

Plus one on both

I hate hate HATE the '97 Jabba.  Don't like Jabba in SW anyway, but the '97 one is a joke.

Reading my post through again and again and still can't see the joke, except maybe some perverted ambiguity connected to the word "touch" and I'm sure that can't be it...

97 Jabba all the way. 97SE Nostalgia and the 04 doesn't work at all. It sticks out like a sore thumb.

It's going to be the same transfer, possibly reprocessed with tweaks made to color and at least one new sound mix. No real surprises. When the Lucasfilm media machine starts up it will suck.

The 97 Jabba model is awful beyond words but the colours are pretty close,

Yeah; I think the colors are a big part of why I prefer the old Jabba.

It would be nice if the 1997 SE was an option, though, even if it just had that version of Jabba. I must say he looked way better in '97 than in '04. How hard was it to make him look like he does in ROTJ?! He looks like really gross oatmeal or something in the '04 SE!

Really? They both look really bad, 97 worse.

I agree, they both look terrible.  There should be another option...

I prefer the '76 Jabba, but not in the final cut.

I like the original Black-n-White Jabba, from 1933, the best.

The stop-motion is a little crude, but it has an honest 'set-of-your-pants' feel to it.

And Fay Wray as the original Princess Leia was just soo hawt!

About the colours with the 1997 SE and the 2004 SE. Just been going through the ANH 1997 SE, and the colours actually seem a lot worse than I remember compared to the 2004 SE in quite a few parts.

I think I have been suffering from 1997 SE nostalgia too. I thought they were better.

Don't judge the quality of the blu-rays from the trailer the blu-rays will be twice as better than that. It's just a trailer.

Ken's still at it on Blu-ray.com.  :)

Gotta give him credit for spelling all the words right for once, and he wrote two semi-coherent sentences as well...

Just found him for the first time on TF.N. Some grammar mistakes and his nickname gave him away.

Great News Indeed. I know some fans are upset that the original cuts won't be on the blu-ray but for me I like both versions. Their are some changes in the Special Editions I don't like greedo shot 1st and the 1st cgi jabba in 1997 but over all I like the speocal editions of the original trilogy and I also like the prequels granted not all of the stuff in those films are great. No matter which versions of the ot comes out on blu-ray is fine with me.

And more.  Okay, I gotta stop.  I can only laugh so much before it hurts.

Yeah, everyone knows it's supposed to be ...twice as gooder...

On blu-ray.com, I'm quite curious how it is that posts that just say things like "saga for me!!" and "whoopee! pre-ordered it!" get so many thumbs-up clicks, whereas posts that contain actual content all get so many thumbs-down that they end up getting hidden?  Seriously, the only interesting posts are the ones you have to click to view.  Are there people that actually spend the time going through and clicking thumbs-up on all the "yahooey!" posts?  Does LFL have all their workers go through and do that?  Or does he pay someone there make a bunch of fake accounts just to go through and make sure the substantive posts get hidden while all the vapid "yippees!" get 10 stars?!

It's hard to imagine that Star Wars is the only movie in the world for which the majority of people DON'T want the theatrical version released!!??  But that's the way it looks.  How sad!

I know kenkraly insisted he doesn't work for LFL, but they must be paying him to click all the thumbs.

What can they be putting on 3 BD-50s? That's a lot of room. If they're gonna have 3 bonus discs anyway, all they had to do was present the 77/80/83 versions on each one, with a popup option to watch alternate/deleted/b-roll where appropriate ( ala the T2 disc that has a mode like that).
