I've had to cancel this production. Not just do to general laziness, but do to an excess of appreciation.

Over the holiday I sat down for the first time in a good while and spent some more time on this, and was paralyzed by genuine love of the material.

Studying Dracula and Mexi-Dracula as carefully as I have to make this edit, I've come to love the artistry too much to try and improve "Dracula." Since I can't re-write and re-shoot the weaker parts of the second half, all I'd be doing is minor additions to the already brilliant first part.

I've also come to the conclusion that Mexi-Dracula, while impressive in many ways, is not the necessarily superior version. Cleavage, rats, and some moving cameras are nice, but there are creative choices that Melford makes that I'm not as sure as I once was are superior to Brownings work. Except Mexi-Dracula's cane. That rules.
