I too wait for the softcover, as I can't stand things that don't match and I can't find the MoSW hardcover any more.Ripplin said:

Yeah thanks Doubleofive :)
On a wee side note, I got my copy of "The Making of the Empire Strikes Back" hardcover today!
005, how many times did you watch the clip before you finished the comparison shots? I would imagine, um...several? ;)
My method for getting the comparisons is pretty simple: I watch the Ady clip a few times, then take screenshots using VLC. I then load up the Wookiegroomer splitscreen and try to find the same frame for comparison, usually lining them up by where characters are in relation to the background. It is also during this stage where I notice things that I missed, which makes me go back to the Ady clip a few more times. Eventually I get all of the shots I want, then crop them in Photoshop (I crop one from each element, then line up the rest on top of those). I stack them up and save them out, putting them in order by the file names. Sometimes I'll find myself stacking the Ady frame on top of the 2004 frame and just turning the Ady element on and off really fast to see all of the little changes and marveling at their subtlety.
