IF he doesn't have cancer, I don't think that's what happened. He wasn't asking for money in his initial "I have cancer" post. If anything, he was looking for attention.

But everyone here, upon hearing this, banded together to help him in his time of need ... and he didn't say anything because, while he may not have cancer, he does still need the money.

Still a pretty shitty thing to do, but he didn't lie about cancer to get money.

That is, of course, assuming he was lying, which I'm not convinced he was.
