They went in a slightly different direction this time. Using that melody from The Who must have cost them a bit. And yet the disco music didn't sound like the real Meco tunes they've used before. Palpy's early career on Naboo was fun. He's more interesting on RC than he is in the prequels.

Gary the stormtrooper is becoming a character in his own right. I chuckled when I recognized what tune he was humming in the Lars' bathroom. The Ewok scene was both disturbing and hilarious.

Luke's brief encounter with that Wampa had an amazing amount of pathos. Was that based on something from another movie?

The shocking truth about Jar Jar made my day.

The fact the Sarlacc doesn't have that damned Audrey II mouth, and we got original Anakin ghost makes me think someone on the show is on our side. (Not to mention "Yub Nub" song!)

Gratuitous THX-1138 references always make me smile.

And "You Special Edition M****r F****r!" needs to be put on a t-shirt! It should be our new rallying cry for the next decade. ;)

That is why I respect Robot Chicken, and loathe Family Guy.

Robot Chicken criticises many of George Lucas' decisions

Family Guy keeps their lips firmly on George Lucas' tit, avoiding perfect times to poke fun at his decisions.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

I often wonder if Lucas is aware of this, or gives his blessing simply because his kids like it.

Lucas even contributed to the first special, he voiced himself.

I doubt he really gives a crap. He seems to be all supportive, but that is probably to draw in fans. He already has enough fans (most of us) mad at him, he doesn't need to lose more by revoking Robot Chicken poking privileges.

In the case of Family Guy, he has Seth MacFarlane in his pocket. Telling him that (Doubtful) "I TiVo every episode of Family Guy" was probably to get more fans as well.

Lucas and McFarlane are connected thru Fox.  The RC guys exist on their own.

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

That was so great!

For those who didn't see it, the original Force ghosts are standing there on Endor, Yoda (voiced by Tom Kane from Clone Wars!) is getting impatient, so Obi-wan says, "You're right, we're not getting any younger!" Then Anakin's ghost changes to Hayden and Obi-wan says "You Special Edition M****r F****r" as they disappear.

Nothing, NOTHING can beat Admiral Ackbar Cereal.

I don't know if their choosing to not criticize Lucas or not. I don't know if they're capable.

Criticizing something requires thought, analysis, and a degree of wit. Why do all that work when they can just break the fourth wall or make another non-sequitor and the Family Guy fans are happy?

Why does no one say "wizard" anymore?

I gotta give it to the RC guys for making fun as much as they do. They're actually closer to Lucas than the Family Guy team. The RC team is working on a new Star Wars comedy show with Lucasfilm.

I was wondering the same thing- it does seem that they were referencing something else.

RC III was awesome, unlike the Family Guy ROTJ, where there were maybe two good jokes in that whole thing...
