I've been in film school for three and a half years now, and all I have to say to you is this:
It's incredibly rewarding, but so much hard work. Go in with an open mind, and try to do as much as you can (direct, write, edit, do sound work, and anything else you can) before you decide which area you really want to do. When you find that (and you'll know it when you do), and you start focusing on it, it'll stop feeling like work.
Good luck, FF!
