Bob, me again:)

Have you considered, so as to give Anakin's character a little more depth, to have him go to his home (or padme's) after Palpatine's reveal, instead of going right to inform Windu... so his turn wouldn't be a decission taken at the time hi cuts out windu, but we know more remarkably that he's confused... I mean, inserting the scene of "something's happening, I'm not the Jedi I should be" right after Palpatine's office scene. Pros I've found on this:

1) showing that Anakin's actual "circle of trust" is his wife, not the Council, which means giving more depth to his relationship with padme WITHOUT the employment of any wooden dialogue

2) showing how confused Anakin is by the content of the scene

3) showing it not only by the content of the scene, but by knowing he told the emperor he'd go to windu and he went to padme's instead.

4) making Anakin a political actor (he's balancing his personal interests over his duty during a major part of the film, instead of having him do it only when he finally turns.

Besides, by putting that scene there, it can leave the spectator thinking that Padme could suspect, at some point, what's going on... and if you delete the shot of Obi Wan boarding Padme's ship without his knowledge, it could even give more meaning to "you're with him, you will not take her from me" line in Mustafar... so as to make us doubt about Padme's role in this whole game (the same idea that's expressed in the Emperor/Vader holochat in ESB). And, this would, of course, increase Anakin's hate for the Jedis by giving an actual and tangible reason.

Cons:

How to get windu to the Palpatine's office... perhaps you could twist the holo-conference to make it seem that right after grievous death, the Jedi would remove Palpatine, no matter what he does.

That's quite brilliant.  And plus, the way the scene ends with Anakin promising Padme she won't die, it's almost as if that's when he would make up his mind (and thus why he would be crying later on in the temple room, because he'd know what's about to happen).  From there, two things could happen.

Path 1:

-After Anakin talks to Padme, cut to the holo conference, and then somehow without a rough cut, get to Anakin talking to Windu.  Only issue here is why Anakin would warn Windu if he's already made up his mind.

Path 2:

Like Mithrandir said, twist the holo conference so that the Jedi would arrest Palpatine after Grievous' death no matter what, and then have Anakin talk to Windu but NOT warn him about Palpatine's power, setting up a trap for Windu.

So it would change the whole thing in that Anakin makes up his mind to turn away from the Jedi while talking to the reason he would in the first place, Padme, and then until the Palpatine duel, sets up the trap for Mace to go face Palpatine, who'd be unaware of Palpatine's true powers.  Only issue there would be Mace's lack of alarm when Palpatine goes all dark-side.
