I can remember the ITV premier of Star Wars featuring the beautiful mono mix. I didn't have a video recorder at the time so i taped the audio from the output on the TV to my Hi-Fi and must have listened to that tape hundreds of times

I did the exact same thing...

At home it would have to be the ITV premier of Star Wars (ANH so pre SE but after the title change).

I taped it off the television and skipped the adverts but kept the ad break cards (I still expect to see them at key points in the movie when I watch it).

At one point I was watching the thing about three times a day for many months.

If you add that to the official VHS viewings, the DVD viewings (both GOUT and SE and fan edits) and the half dozen cinema viewings I must have seen the film in some form well over a thousand times by now (though I try to limit it to about once a year these days).

In the cinema it is Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom which I watched about 17 times (to the point where the ticket lady at the ABC Cinema was giving me funny looks when I would see it a couple of times a day in one week).

Watching a film a lot of times isn't always a barometer of appreciation though.

And again, I did the exact same thing...Even watching Indy a shit load of times at the cinema...... The one add break I still remember to this day is "Luke..Luke..Luke...Have you seen Luke this morning?"

Actually, I think it was Jedi that I saw around 17 times in 3 weeks at our local cinema...Good times!!!
