Spy has to have had some blowups made. Golden Gun and Moonraker both had blowups.

Now I'm upgrading my PC with a 2nd two terabyte drive, and moving data over.
The work continues....

Doesn't it always...;)
I just won copies of TSWLM and YOLT from the 89 series on ebay but have to wait until the holidays to bring down my player...and probably will then need a remote...and more upgrades...
Keep the updates coming. This thread has encouraged me to finally start collecting all of the 007 LDs.
BTW how much is the jump in quality from the 89 series to the Connery Collection?

Do the Bond LD have anything unique to them in terms of prints, sound mixes and extras? If so, I might have to start getting them...

Most of the info you are looking for is someplace in this thread. a number of people have posted such info. As for me, I only know of the 1962-1971 films.
"The Criterion Collection" (two disk sets) and "The Connery Collection Vol.1"box set.
Have exclusive commentary and audio tracks.
"The Criterion Collection"
"Dr. No" = exclusive commentary and Music and sound effects only track.
"From Russia With Love" = exclusive commentary.
"Goldfinger" = exclusive commentary and Music and sound effects only track.
and on
"The Connery Collection Vol.1"
"From Russia With Love" = Music and sound effects only track.

Update:
Just got my hands on a sealed copy of the "Tomorrow Never Dies" laserdisc for just $2 at Amoeba Music here in San Francisco. I may do some preservation of the digital surround track at some point in the future.

The Sci Fi channel is doing a 007 marathon over Thanksgiving. A chance to watch the films that aren't on Blu Ray yet in HD if nothing else.
Where were you in '77?
Amazing... if you live in the States :(

Along with ugly station watermark and endless promo pop-ups for some stupid Ghost Hunting type show. *frown*

Unfortunate that they do that. What I saw of the late night USA broadcasts seemed to be free of those damn pop-ups strangely enough. Or else they were not doing it every five minutes. ;)

I miss the TBS 15 days of 007 from my childhood.
Lucky FF! Did you get the DTS LD or the Dolby one?
Weird. I just lost an ebay listing for this.

It's the Dolby one.

Please do TND too! This project has really made me want to go back and track down the LDs of all the Bonds for the PCM tracks. The Dolby mix may not be 448, but it is the original theatrical dolby mix which isn't on the DVD.
You can never have too many Bond audio mixes. ;)

How do you know its not the theatrical mix? Did they change the sound levels or something?

Not sure what the difference is.

Currently watching LTK on Syfy... anyone else think the rear levels are ridiculously high? I had to readjust my set just to hear any dialogue, by boosting the front channels far higher than they should go - and, mind you, my surround system isn't even set up properly! For aesthetic reasons we leave them in front with the others, our room just wouldn't work with them in the back.
A Goon in a Gaggle of 'em
Your cable or satellite provider might be the culprit here. My cable company has been guilty of screwy audio for decades. I still have to put up with certain channels that have the audio cranked to earbleeder levels.
My Sci Fi feed went all blocky and dropout ridden just in time for the marathon too.
Where were you in '77?
I see. Anyway, for whatever reason, I don't seem to have the attention span for lTK tonight. However, I was pleasantly surprised that i didn't see any pop-up ads. Was nice.
EDIT: I watched OHMSS on Syfy tonight, and this shot looks more like it did in the SE on the channel. I wish I could show it, but I don't have a capture card. Does this mean they've fixed the colors for the eventual blu release, or what? Either way, it looked a lot more like what I remember in the theater than the UE atrocity there.

The UEs suffered when compressed to DVD. The Blus typically reflect this and offer a better and more detailed color scheme. These HD masters would be used for new HD broadcasts and thus would explain this. I'd be surprised (and very glad) if they removed this tinkering because it was completely unnecessary.

I have to do the same do to lack of space. It looks funny.
Was just testing LTK on my setup last night (Dolby SR all the way!) and the rears are fine. I'd agree that it was most likely your cable.

I took a picture with my camera that might reflect this, but unfortunately my camera chord is not cooperating... I don't have a microSD slot, and the camera's not being read for some reason. By *any* of my computers.

Since when does DVD compression alter the color scheme of a movie?
GAV
On these they did all of the restoration work uncompressed then crammed it onto the DVD. In doing so, they created some problems as things did not appear the same as their original files. The Blu rays that have been released do not have these problems because they aren't SD.
