Star Wars coming to Blu Ray (UPDATE: August 30 2011, No! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!) — Page 37

We have evidence that says they're not making a new master. We have word-of-mouth that they are making a new master. One of these is wrong. Do we trust Lucasfilm's official statements, or some poster's dad? Heck, even the word-of-mouth is about the 3D versions, not the BR at all. All official sources say "2004 transfer for BR". They even said "2004 transfer for 3D".

I will be pleasantly surprised if the 3D version of the OT (if enough people go see the PT so Lucas can "afford" to do the OT) doesn't have terrible colors. I'm not holding my breath though. The near-future BRs will be the already existing 2004 transfers; they have 1080p copies, why would anyone think they wouldn't use them (they used a 1993 transfer of the OOT in 2006 for goodness' sake)?

If you're so tired of it then why are you spending time on a message board whose sole purpose is to oppose the film making philosophy embraced and embodied by GL and LFL over the last thirteen years?

Furthermore, one might add that you have little latitude to accuse anyone here of arguing ad infinitum, ad nauseum. Perhaps you would find it more palatable if every post on this forum merely said, "I think the colors on the bluray release will be fixed"?

Kenkraly2007, it's people like you that is the reason why Lucasfilm will keep pushing out half-assed versions of the OT. Again you rant about how you know that the colours will be fixed and that it will be a new transfer even though the proof is out there that they will eb the 2004 masters of the OT. ONLY TPM has had a new transfer and restoration. The new transfer for TPM looks amazing and the colour issues have been fixed. But this won't be the way with the OT. It was stated ages ago that they have the HD masters of the OT ready for the Blu-Ray YEARS AGO. There have also been numerous digital showings of the OT at Lucasfilm events. And they are the same as the 2004 set.

Fanboys? I think you need to learn what that term means because it actually points directly at you. Fanboys will take anything that is star wars no matter how bad something is and constantly defend it's creator. And you're tired of what you call bashing? Don't you think that we are tired of you repeating the same thing over and over again. And , yes, the prequels did ruin Star Wars. When will you get it into your  head that they are not going to "fix" something that they don't even consider to be wrong in the first place? You seem to live in a fantasy land where you seem to be under the impression that we should all just shut up because we are all wrong and that just because you think that we'll get a fixed version of the OT that it will magically happen. Wait, when did this happen?

They did a new transfer to add the CG Yoda. This was unveiled at the Star Wars concert tour. The colours are great, cleaned up picture without overdoing it and none of the edge enhancement (that i could see) that plagued the old transfer. It looked amazing and really showed just how little GL cares about the OT. Seeing a star wars episode looking so great and then switching to shots of the messed up versions of the OT was depressing

Who gives a shit about how these will look, these are not the films we're looking for anyway.
