It looks like Vader can't stand the burocrats that surround him in his ships. But in the battlefield (Tantive, for instance) that's another thing, he's still a good general. Actually, this does fit with Anakin's characteristics; even with what's shown in Clone Wars.

I agree that we see some movements in ANH that aren't Vaderish at all. But concerning him looking the void, I think that's one of his characteristical attitudes; and he does move his head sometimes, not very pronouncedly, but he does. So the point is how can it be shown (on a Vader looking the void scene) that he's confused, feeling something that makes him feel uneasy (for the first time since twenty years)
