I like them both :)
Ady has too much fun doing that kind of stuff.
*waits for people to start talking about how much they like the fake better*

I like them both :)
And I breathe a huge sigh of relief! I knew you wouldn't do that to us, Ady.
Love the engine glow on the Falcon, by the way!

Us as Ot lovers or just Star wars fans? ;)
Ady, since you are using some extensive work on 3d why are you keeping the original elements at the end?
I Suppose that you can keep the originality and only make them better.
I know that you enhance only problematic areas only, but watching what these 3d can do you might want to replace some asteroid field shots that the falcon and the ties doenst have nice shadows in some of the asteroids. If not all the space shots.
Question tho. Isnt the Imperial shuttle (needa's shot) be good to be followed by two tie fighters?
-Angel
Yes, the new blue glow is nice. Consistency is good. :)
Does anyone know why they changed the engine glow colors? For that matter, what about the slow firing rate of the TIEs? I don't remember reading any reasons when this was brought up before. (MF's, SD's glows in ESB:R)

the whole thing is to represent the metaphor: "needle in a haystack"; Han is gone, and they don't know where, and their haystack is HUGE, so the unsurmountable task is presented visually like that.
I don't remember, did they ever specifically mention Jabba toward the end of ESB?
I know Han said Jabba put a price on his head, and why not collect a double bounty, from the Empire and then from Jabba? Tatooine is the logical place to start looking, and it was their rendezvous point, after all. It seems they knew he would be taken there; I just don't remember if Vader or Boba ever mentioned Jabba...
It's a long way till April Fools so I got caught off guard!
Knew Ady was pulling a fast one. =P I think the best way to handle it since he's changing the Falcon is to change the flight path so it flies off toward the galaxy/star and shrinks in the distance like the script implies.
As for Han, we knew from ANH that Jabba had a bounty on Han's head because he dropped a shipment when he encountered an imperial patrol. Then we find out at the beginning of ESB that Han had a run in with a bounty hunter on Ord Mantell and that now Jabba has placed a death mark on him. From there, Darth Vader then places a bounty to track down Luke's allies and Boba Fett cashes in by following them to Bespin. From there Darth Vader agreed to hand Solo over to Boba unharmed because as Fett said, "He's worth a lot to me." Because of the already established bounty on his head placed by Jabba.
In light of Ady's recently posted image, I think the debate now shifts to: Forming solar system or nebula? :-)

Hehehehe. Good evening/morning Ady. Nice to see I'm not the only Brit still awake!
ah, a fellow brit. watch it guys, we're taking over. lol
I'm probably going to be up for a fair few hours yet. I won't sleep until the video i'm working on is finished. And there's an awful lot of rotoscoping to do in this shot so it's going to be midday probably before my head hits the pillow :)
Cool.
Greece is Awaken too ;) I can offer you a Beer or Coffee ;)
What is the shot ady?

Vader says "You may take Captain Solo to Jabba the Hutt after I have Skywalker" to Boba.
Vaderios, about those unidentified fleet ships... I was always fascinated with them. The Rebel fleet had two or three fighter types and three capital ship types at the end of ESB, and it felt like there was some mysterious stuff going on back there. Of course the prequels have a glut of starship designs - but I kind of preferred it the OT way.
Anyway, there's a publicity image that had some different, but still unidentified, ships in it. I could only find a low-res version but I'm sure with some hunting one could come up with a better one (I did find a bigger one but some of the ships were cropped out).
There also used to be a site that hosted commentaries on various SW topics (sort of a companion to the SWTC). There was some discussion of the ragtag ships on there as well:

Sorry for the momentary derail, but it was a point of interest. And if these scenes are being redone (I have no idea if they are), it might be cool to see interpretations of these ships in more detail.

"NOO! NOOOOOO!!" - Darth Vader
Amazing post there A.H.!
Its only a matter of continuity of what type of space cruisers and ships will have ESB and what of all these will remain or added in ROTJ:R.
Since the Mon calamari ships are out of the question in the end of ESB I can guess Ady will make/keep a more visual recognizability to the famous ships that defines the OT universe in larger scales/expansions and numbers.
Wasnt Empire at war game that established EU crap Ships that were similar to the OT ones?

I thought the most convincing updates in ANH:R were shots where he took original elements (i.e. old 1977 models and stuff) and played with them, rather than Lucas' shots where new scenes were created whole-cloth. It gave the new shots more "zip" (I usually hate "zip") while keeping them grounded in the rest of the film.
In short: please, as little outright CG as possible, please.

I was pretty sure the first one was a fake...but I'm not going to lie and say I was 100% sure. :-(

My interpretation:
1st image: A double copckit ship with the body of Tantive? Or Actualy we see the back of the ship and its something like the MF in the mc quarrie's concepts (the one that had One cockpit)
2nd image: A tantive something corvete with no of the 8 engines.
3rd image: The same ship from the 1st image in a different angle. Now reminds more the jedi cruiser in the start of TMP with 2 engines instead of 3.
4th image: A B-Wing? Or a unidentified ship in a weird angle?
5th image: This looks more like the Bug like ship that the separatists have. with the Big wing in the middle.
Any source confirms these as desings?
-Angel
The first three images are the same ship, but from different angles (Isometric, side, and rear). The body, or rear of the ship isn't so much of a Tantive body or cruiser, but the Prope Droid Dispatch pod (seen in the begining of the movie).
The other two ships I am not sure about. They are most likly just 'filler' ships that were made just for the shot, quick and no real detail. But the last one does appear to have B-Wing characteristics
As for having them in RotJ, I think that they might be fuel ships or cargo transports that don't need to be with the fleet that is going to war.

(long, loud sigh)
My point was the direction of the Falcon when it leaves in that last shot. As far as the galaxy/forming star/whatever it is, if anything was to be done to it, just blur up the arms so it doesn't look like galaxy spiral arms with stars in it.
Even so, it would make more sense (to me) to show the Falcon moving away from us, since that is what it was doing in the previous shot as it was leaving the underbelly of the frigate, as opposed to just veering off to the left. That's all I'm sayin'.
